Some serious desperation posts by you today. 1 claiming Kerry folk have a problem with Galway trying to influence Galways opinion of us and therefore the approach to your game. 2 Now hoping they'll rest players.. my god lad that's fairly desperate. westkerry (Kerry) - Posts: 1250 - 24/07/2018 16:42:06 2125797 Link 4 |
I know the Galway players would give Kerry a stronger chance of beating the Dubs so Galway will go all out to beat Monaghan. BYW your posts are rubbish

Not in it for likes thanks for the critique though.

No mention that we coughed up 3 goal chances against the Lillies and had a goal disallowed where the minimum given typically would be a free in as Damien Comer was clearly fouled before his alleged too many steps. Against Kerry while we were very average we had 13 sides many of which were scorable. An extra man only works I guess if used widely as you often see 14 guys redoubling their efforts. Without being defensive I note some commentary on has been that in some matches it has being more a case of the opposition losing it rather than us winning it. Will be interesting to see how season finishes but definitely we are force to be reckoned with.

We are in no desperate situation unlike some team....Monaghan have a chance to top the group or come second and finish the job from Sunday and send Kerry to bring home the turf. We are not relying on other teams for survival.

Difficult one to call this one as both teams of similar ability & both fighting to salvage something & save face. However with the absence of Flynn, Kerry will probably shade it. greysoil (Monaghan) - Posts: 965 - 24/07/2018 20:23:24 2125880 Link 0 |

It's difficult to imagine the Kildare footballers being able to motivate themselves to put everything on the line against Kerry, now that they are out of the c'ship. O'Neill may even give his fringe players a game here. neverright (Roscommon) - Posts: 1648 - 24/07/2018 20:56:13 2125892 Link 0 |
There is no doubting Galway's talent and with home advantage would normally be slight favourites, but, Monaghan will be hurting and need a result or it's our last game. If we can keep our intensity levels up for the entire match (Malone must start after last week) we will top the group mhunicean_abu (Monaghan) - Posts: 1066 - 24/07/2018 21:07:18 2125895 Link 0 |
If fit Malone must start every game for Monaghan !

Soft Munster championship probably didn't help us but in Fairness we came up against two very talented and well organized football teams in Galway and Monaghan and we just weren't good enough end of story, Would I like us to get through to the semifinal? I don't know, of course I want us to get as far as possible, but I'm not enjoying watching our team at the moment bar the young fellas who haven't left us down, but in fairness we have no business going up against the dubs at this stage as we'd be hammered and we could do without that. Lads the reality of it is that it's great as a Monaghan man to be on this forum with a chance of reaching a semi final place. We have a fantastic team with some of the best players in the country. These days are like hens teeth to us. It's probably a once in a lifetime opportunity to see a Monaghan team fulfill our potential after a few near misses over the decades. Both Kerry and Galway are fantastic teams and as I said earlier it's just brilliant to be among them with a bite at a big one. HON THE FARNEY

It's a strange place to find ourselves ... unbeaten in S8, in our own hands and the opportunity (2nd opportunity) to take Kerry out ... and avoid Dublin. Monaghan would have taken that in a heartbeat at start of year. The pain of minute 74 is fading thankfully. Mon79 (Monaghan) - Posts: 81 - 25/07/2018 11:39:43 2126040 Link 1 |
Galway won't risk any lads with knocks in this game. In fact I don't think Galway will play their full team. I can see a few usual starters being left on the bench. Marooned (Galway) - Posts: 2377 - 25/07/2018 13:53:54 2126096 Link 0 |
I don't know a single Galway supporter who is "hoping/expecting" to win Sam this year. While we're delighted that the team is clearly showing potential to be one of the top teams in the country, I don't think any of us are looking past the next game be it against Tyrone, Donegal, or *GULP* Dublin.
