Much was made about Dublins trouncing of Tyrone in the semi final last year but so much hinged on that early goal Tyrone conceded. If Tyrone manage to avoid conceding an early goal on Saturday then I think they have a great chance. Dublins forwards are not as bad as what was made out by some pundits (Scully wouldn't get in the Kerry team my ar*e) but I also don't think they're running as well as they could. Con O'Callaghan and Mannion haven't been having the games we would expect them to have. Dean Rock and Ciaran Kilkenny had off days on Saturday but they have a better record of turning things around, those guys are old pros who still do the simply things right in crunch games. keithlemon (Australia) - Posts: 920 - 16/07/2018 11:51:25 2122614 Link 0 |
Tyrone have a lot of people in the media and a good PR machine? Have you seen any of what has been said and written about us over the last 15 years?? To say that the media are fans of Tyrone is one of the most bizarre statements I've ever seen on here!

Certainly not in RTE . Joe, Pat and Colm have not been very friendly over the last 15 years from O'Rourke eating his hat to Pat's puke analysis and Joe's attacks on great GAA servants such as Mickey Harte.

I didn't mention the last 15 years or the views of non Tyrone people. There are now a number of Tyrone people writing newspaper columns and working on the main television stations. Some of their comments are sometimes edgy but having this Tyrone representation keeps people talking about them. They get a lot of exposure but it doesn't hide the fact that whilst they are a Div 1 team, they are nowhere near winning an All Ireland which will be shown this weekend.

I'm on season ticket. And I'm enquiring to see anybody's knows if their is any supporters buses arranged for this Saturday trip to Omagh. And if so, can please advise were the pick up points are. Or ideally if anybody is driving, could I please have lift up and back and I'll pay towards petrol or diesel. I boriordan (Dublin) - Posts: 3 - 16/07/2018 12:30:32 2122642 Link 0 |
They'll beat the dubs in omagh and probably get to final to take them on there too. OhtobeARossie (Roscommon) - Posts: 1792 - 16/07/2018 12:36:22 2122649 Link 1 |
I think Tyrone could have a chance. I think they'll have to try something different than last year and the year to date to turn them over. I'd think a Ronan O'Neill or Mark Bradley play to act as playmaker as I think we will need to get the ball in quick ideally. HokeyPokey (Tyrone) - Posts: 1744 - 16/07/2018 12:47:35 2122655 Link 0 |
Tyrone have a real chance I think in this one. catch22 (USA) - Posts: 2148 - 16/07/2018 13:20:01 2122679 Link 0 |
I was just thinking the same thing if we beat them on Saturday what are the chances of beating them again this is 1 problem with the super 8's is if you beat a team once in the group you may have to do it again in the AI final, as it stands Dublin maybe beaten once but very hard to see them getting beat twice redbomb (Tyrone) - Posts: 167 - 16/07/2018 13:58:08 2122712 Link 0 |
Whats the capacity of Healy Park in Omagh is it around 20,000? Can't wait very excited about our trip north! doubletree (Dublin) - Posts: 164 - 16/07/2018 14:46:32 2122757 Link 0 |

See an article there where Mickey Harte admits it was damage limitation after 8 minutes of the AI semi last year! Like WTF? Didn't try anything different to win the game, just accepted defeat after a few minutes. That is disgraceful. If you're going down, go down all guns blazing. But nope, try to limit the margin of defeat. And people on here think Tyrone have a chance this year, haha. The same tactics will be employed, and Tyrone will lose, by whatever Dublin choose to beat them by. Dermoot (Tyrone) - Posts: 46 - 16/07/2018 17:41:07 2122830 Link 0 |
Then better to lose now and try and beat Donegal - rather than take the chance - but best way is to beat them twice in anyone's books.

Dublin have to win this "away" game or certain Dublin posters will self combust. MuckrossHead (Donegal) - Posts: 5028 - 16/07/2018 20:20:20 2122882 Link 0 |
Its just about getting through. Winning would more or less seal it. Lose it and thinks can get tricky.

Dermoot that was 12 months ago. Let's be positive.

What kind of Tyrone supporter are you? It won"t be easy against the Dubs but better seeing the positives and shout your team on.

A realistic, frustrated one. I still go and shout them on surely, but am I wasting my time if the manager has no belief in the players to beat Dublin? What happens if Tyrone go behind on Saturday evening? I'd love to see the manager have faith in the players and let them have a go, especially under these circumstances where it's not winner takes all. If they go behind, try something new to win the game, not just accept defeat. There are a lot of very good players on this Tyrone team, I just want them to be given the best opportunity to be the best they can be. this is almost far too close to call...dublin will be favourites to edge it by a point or two, but i honestly think the hurt and pain of 12 months ago will carry this team through...that day was a humiliation to all tyrone gaels including that fine bunch of young men who pulled on the jersey...its not going to happen again, and we'll die with our boots on...we'll play our part on the terraces in healy park, and create the atmosphere for the red hands to go into battle...we are ready and we're not lying down this time...keep the faith! mayotyroneman (Tyrone) - Posts: 1821 - 17/07/2018 00:24:25 2122969 Link 0 |
Apologies Dermoot. I judged you on just one post. Ye certainly have plenty of talent. Hopefully Harte or his successor will get the most of that talent.
