Sounds like Tyrone are favourites so. It's going to be a real test no doubt about that. I just hope we don't get a real drubbing.

BREAKING NEWS: Playing a division 4 team in portlaoise is not as difficult as playing a division 1 team in their home ground !!!!

FFS, obviously it's not going to be an easy game. No one from Dublin ever said it was going to be.

PS we where told Tyrone where preparing for us last year .. they got their arses handed to them. They may well beat us next week we are there for the taking. But we're well capable of beating them.

I fancy tyrone in this game. In fact, I fancied them all year after the way they finished the league to do very well in the championship. I would put them ahead of many other teams including Galway, Monaghan and indeed Mayo (if they were still in it that is).

I am not talking them up as I made this point a lot earlier in threads. I like the look of them and think that Mickey Harte is no fool either. The only 3 teams who didn't go all out off the bridle in the league were Kerry, Dublin and Tyrone.

The big question is if Tyrone can repeat yesterdays performance against a team such as Dublin. I believe they can and think that anyone who calls themselves a GAA supporter will be glued to the tv the day of the game.

Dublin are red hot favs for this game and all Ireland. They hammered us last year and beat us easy enough in the league.
Dublin scored 2-16 or so yesterday pulling up. Home advantage doesn't mine much to this Dublin team as they are so professional. You could play them in a field out the back of your house and they would still go he'll for leather.
Tyrone have played no one in the qualifiers to be honest. There is a massive gap between top 4-5 and the rest, and it is massive.
Dublin's handling of the ball yesterday was a joy to watch. They won in 3rd gear, it was probably the best time to play Dublin yesterday, maybe a bit rusty after an easy Leinster campaign. That rust will be gone next week and they got Cian O'Sullivan and Jack game time.
I believe it gives rain next Saturday night so that might help Tyrone. The likes of McKernan and HP McGeary haven't been tested in the full back line and they will be marking class forwards in Mannion and Rock etc. When they tire Kev McM and Cormac Costello come on and score.
In saying that I'm backing Tyrone to win!!! ;)

The problem with playing Dublin is that you cannot prepare for them as they are so far ahead of most sides. It is a massive step up from playing Roscommon to taking on the Dubs. For example, you think you are great on your own kickouts until you meet them.

Tyrone are in a good place at the moment and will never get a better chance to beat Dublin. However I think it will be similar to the Donegal game and Dublin will win by 4 or 5 points.

Anyone thinking Tyrone (or anyone for that matter) will beat Dublin this year is kidding themselves, they are miles ahead of everyone. Their brand of football may be horrible to watch, but it is effective. Tyrone are going into this game the same way as they did last year. Hammered a couple of naive, feeble teams, then came up against the mighty Dubs and got blew away. There is a massive gap between Dublin and the next 4 or 5 best sides, then another massive gap to the rest. The game has turned almost professional in how teams pepare, and it shows. There is rarely an enjoyable game of football now. Rule changes will be needed to curtail the demise of the game at county level. There was 42 scores in Tyr/Ros game last night yet everyone around me in croker was bored, Dublin game was even more boring. Need to introduce rules that stop professionalism being such an advantage.

Tyrone's only chance of beating Dublin would have been yesterday. No harm to Roscommon or Armagh, but, entertainment factor aside, they're limited enough teams, miles off the level needed to win anything serious. Donegal was a good workout for Dublin and they'll be more than ready for Tyrone. Suggesting anything else is daft chat.

Tyrone are in with a chance in this game, they are improving with each outing, but I wouldn't be using Roscommon as a yardstick for anything.

Think Tyrone could cause Dublin plenty of bother

But this is a massive step up in class for them

Sure Meath could have beaten Tyrone recently

Cork are unfortunately for them just dreadful

Roscommon not so good

Big big step up on the way for Tyrone

But in saying all that.. If Dublin continues to waste opportunities then it'll catch up with them soon

Plus I don't think Dublin's forward until is currently functioning as well as it could be. I'd like to see changes there..

Great chance for Tyrone to put down a marker. Galway beat Kerry much more easily than they beat us in the Connacht final, On that form-line, after the thrashing you gave us, you must be favoured to stop Dublin's gallop.

Is it just me or is there not a serious amount of deja vu from last year.

We are beating a lot of medicore teams by cricket scores because they allow us to play the blanket defence/counter attacking football which we have been playing for years now.

What are we going to do differently when we play Dublin next week? They definately won't let us amass a 6-8 point cusion. If we fall 3-4 points behind the dubs will our management team have a plan B or will our players stare blankly at the sideline like in last years semi final?

I hope we can match Dublins intensity and make a game out of it as i think we definately have the players capable of doing it, but unfortunately i think we may witness our team trying to defend a 12 loss again.

I don't think Dublin are p[lying with an awful lot of cohesion in defence nor attack yet this summer. No disrespect to the teams they've come up against so far but they haven't actually had a proper test yet. Tyrone have a far better chance than the bookies make out next saturday evening

If we beat this Tyrone team in Omagh by 12 points in a championship match the debate is over, this Dublin team is the greatest football team ever.

But I doubt we will beat them by that much.

I would agree with this will be a tight cagey affair in my opinion.

The points here will be critical and i can see both teams going hell for leather. Im expecting one of the best games of the quarter finals here with so many subplots and subtexts; the Dubs away in the height of the championship, Tyrone with a point to prove after last year, a clash of ideology's, the group standings and semi pairings, the points difference in the group.

Tyrones result against Roscommon throws the cat amongst the pigeons in the sense that point difference is standing at 13 points, really anything else but a win in isn't in Dublin favor.

Gavin was also not a happy man after Donegal this week, i think its going to be a tough week for the Dublin players out in Innisfallis. But Tyrone i feel will be primed for this as well and look lean and purposeful, with momentum coming form some big wins and have grown well into this championship.

Both will know that a bad result wont necessarily end their championships, so hopefully both will treat us to a good game of ball.

Tyrone have a lot of people in the media and always have a good PR machine. They are simply not good enough to beat Dublin or win an All Ireland. Yes they have had a few good wins against Division 2 teams and people are getting excited again. Funnily they don't have a good record in Omagh, I fully expect Dublin to win this game by 6 points plus without having to be at full tilt.
