Second wins for Offaly and Dublin in Division 1B while Waterford bounce back against Laois

Offaly chalked up their second win in Division 1B of the Allianz Hurling League this afternoon by seeing off Antrim on a comprehensive 2-26 to 0-17 scoreline in Tullamore.
The Faithful men held a 0-10 to 0-7 advantage before Dan Ravenhill hammered home their first goal in the 32nd minute as they went on to lead by 10 points at half-time.
Keelan Molloy and James McNaughton pulled back scores for Davy Fitzgerald’s side in the second-half, but the game would be well and truly over as a contest when Killan Sampson register the hosts’ second goal on the hour mark.

In Mullingar, Dublin also got their second victory of the league campaign this afternoon against Westmeath (1-22 to 0-18).
A tight first-half saw Conal Ó Riain’s 10th minute goal the difference at the break, as the scoreboard read 1-12 to 0-12, and Diarmaid Ó Dúlaing and Fergal Whitely would land early second-half points for the capital men.
Points from David Williams helped keep Westmeath in the fight but, even with losing Ó Riain midway through the second period, Dublin were able to see out the win thanks to Ó Dúlaing’s frees and late scores via David Purcell and Whitely.
Meanwhile, Waterford bounced back from last weekend’s shock defeat to Carlow with a 1-27 to 0-20 win over Laois.
Patrick Fitzgerald’s goal two minutes in gave the Deise men the perfect start and the frees of Padraig Fitzgerald ensured they’d lead by 1-13 to 0-12 at the break.
The second-half saw Peter Queally’s men turning the screw, with the two aforementioned Fitzgeralds, Jamie Barron and Kevin Mahony all sailing over scores to help their side win out by double figures in the end.
