Kildare's CCC are expected to investigate the ugly scenes that marred the end of a hurling championship clash in Hawkfield last Sunday.

According to local reports, a mass brawl involving several players erupted following Éire Óg Corra Choill's 1-13 to 1-10 SHC preliminary round victory over old rivals Coill Dubh. The melee even resulted in the Reserve Football League Division 1 final between Moorefield and Athy at the same venue being delayed.

Éire Óg Corra Choill's win sees them join Naas, Celbridge and Confey in the winners' group, but it remains to be seen if suspensions will arise from last Sunday's encounter.
