A Mayo GAA club has been left heartbroken after a road accident claimed the lives of a mother and daughter this week.

Kiltimagh GAA has paid a heartfelt tribute to 46-year-old Aisling Moore and her eight-year-old daughter Abbigael who died in a collision which involved a car and a lorry on the N26 in Lismoran, Foxford on Tuesday. Abbigael was a member of the club’s U10 team.

"It is with a heavy heart and great sadness that we hear about the tragic deaths of our U-10 team member Abbigael and her loving mother Aisling Moore,” the club said in a Facebook post.

"Abbigael was a kind, bubbly and fun-loving girl who will be missed dearly by us all, not least her family and her dear friends.

"We hold Aisling and Abbigael's family and friends in our thoughts and prayers. Rest In Peace Aisling and Abbigael in the arms of the angels.”
