Three rising stars of Offaly GAA are facing the prospect of playing two big colleges games in 24 hours this weekend.

As well as being part of the Coláiste Choilm, Tullamore team that plays Hogan Cup holders Naas CBS in the Leinster Post Primary Schools Senior ‘A’ Football Championship semi-final in Ratheniska on Friday at 2.45pm, Dan Bourke, Ter Guinan and Cillian Martin are also involved with the Offaly Schools team that meets St Kieran’s College, Kilkenny in the Leinster Post Primary Schools Senior ‘A’ Hurling Championship final on Saturday.

The Corn Uí Dhúill decider throws in at Nowlan Park at 1pm after both teams agreed to toss for home advantage. Bourke hit 1-4 in Offaly Schools’ semi-final win over Good Counsel, New Ross last Saturday, while Guinan and Martin – who were two of the stars of last year’s Offaly Leinster MHC winning team – were among the subs.

As a combined team, Offaly Schools will not be allowed to compete in the All-Ireland series should they be crowned Leinster champions.
