Some interesting takes on orourkes stint with meath. He did blood some of the lads we have now but he also did inherit a team with many men that were naturally going to be moved on anyway. He also did have a poor championship and league and won a secondary comp we realistically don't give a hoot about. royalcounty1 (Meath) - Posts: 114 - 28/10/2026 21:47:05 2698793 Link 0 |

On a side note lads, just saw the new home kit. Darker green. It's alright I suppose, but a darker green doesn't sit as right with me. Preferred last years one if I'm honest RoyalStalwart24 (Meath) - Posts: 141 - 28/10/2026 22:56:25 2698802 Link 0 |

100% agree - I would say that Menton has had probably his best years under RB so can't imagine him being anything but positive about the set-up. Anyone paying a half bit of attention to the players can see that they enjoy working with RB. I don't understand why some supporters have a tendency to knock the current set up and hark back to previous regimes. But I guess that is what you get with a cross-section of supporters - some outlandish opinions and you can hear it for yourself in the stands and terraces. I'm a big Meath supporter but have very little bias towards any of the clubs, players or management - I just want to see us play positive, smart, winning football.

Not sure where that text came from that I'm supposedly replying to - just to clarify, I was replying to agree with RoyalStalwart's comment about some of the comments on this forum not making sense!

It's the sponsor for me, its so alien on that shirt. I wish they would colour grade the logo to allow it to blend in with the shirt. Otherwise I actually think it's a really nice shirt.

Finally, a voice of reason and sense. While there is always room for improvement, Brennan's tenure has been hugely successful. We need to back him and the team.

I think while the championship was quite disappointing, every game could have gone either way and some of the football while patchy was excellant at times. I think people are also forgetting that Meath had really tough away draws in every game played in championship and not being able to play Westmeath in Navan was also a hindrance. Defensively things improved a bit in the end and the squad is by and large young with further room for improvement. Getting the injured players back for championship will be crucial.

Unbelievable. Apparently it is confirmed that Cork will host Meath on the opening day of the Allianz Football League. Back to Páirc Uí Rinn we go. RoyalStalwart24 (Meath) - Posts: 141 - 30/10/2026 13:27:39 2698985 Link 0 |

I'm hearing that we have Donegal away in the third round, and the Rossies in Croker at some stage RoyalStalwart24 (Meath) - Posts: 141 - 30/10/2026 22:39:07 2699048 Link 0 |

Cork away again... Wtf? Ridiculous. That's 3 league games in a row and a championship game away to Cork.

Tough away ties but perhaps better concentrating on getting home pts and avoiding Kerry and Donegal at home despite the mileage is not the worst thing. They are both likely to have strong teams out for round 3 and 5 so anything from these fixtures a bonus. Cork away is obviously a disappointing one to have to travel but perhaps not the worst time to go at round 1 and an opportunity to get something on the road. A competitive league picking up a few wins and giving half a dozen inexperienced players gametime crucial. Avoiding relegation should be the only objective and it still won't be easy to do that. winatallcost (Meath) - Posts: 1079 - 31/10/2026 21:35:03 2699123 Link 0 |

I'd argue Championship should be the only objective. goosey (Meath) - Posts: 66 - 01/11/2026 05:11:15 2699135 Link 0 |
