We do have our work cut out, but to counter that, I thought Monaghan really threw that Donegal game away, and were so superior for 40 odd minutes. But for bad wides and poor decision making, it might and should have been Meath and Monaghan this weekend. So they're a brilliant team, but not invincible. And we'll take a lot of confidence from how Monaghan were able to open them up time and time again. Now maybe Monaghan are just a better team than Meath, you gave us a good spanking in the league - I think we have drastically improved since. But time will tell on that point. Regarding clash of kits, yep ridiculous that this is constantly a conversation, the solutions are always so simple, yet the GAA consisted make a mess of the whole thing. Sunday is simple: Meath wear Green, Donegal were white. Meath wear Navy, Donegal wear white. Meath wear Navy, Donegal wear their home yellow kit. But we've somehow landed on Meath were green, and Donegal wear a kit that is 50% green. It's genuinely baffling how this is even an issue. Meath had the same issue with Kerry in the group stages, and Kerry wore navy/blue. Problem solved. Cabbagepatch1667 (Meath) - Posts: 45 - 10/07/2025 16:49:29 2624856 Link 1 |
The reasoning is the referee doesn't see the reason for a change of kit?? A blind mind could see there's clearly a clash. What is the point of the alternate kits if not to wear them when something resembling a clash like this? Utterly mind boggling. Big build up to a massive game and the GAA going to destroy the game with this nonsense.

One thing over the years Meath can lift there game against better opposition. No saying Meath always win but there performance improves against better opposition. Take 2018 was it when Longford beat Meath next match was against Tyrone. Curtains for Meath but they ended up taken Tyrone to extra time in Navan. And should have won. They were not expected to beat Tyrone in 96 or 07 and won both. Also Dublin and Kerry this nobody thought Meath won beat either. I had sneaky suspicion we would do well against Kerry but didn't think they win by 9. bobkarlgees (Meath) - Posts: 1284 - 10/07/2025 18:49:54 2624883 Link 0 |
We perform, we win. That simple!

I don't think anyone on the Donegal page has been discussing tickets for the final. There was discussion alright at the total balls the GAA/Ticketmaster made of ticket distribution for this weekend. Make no mistake noone in Donegal is taking Meath lightly. They are there in merit & are a very dangerous, physical outfit. Lockjaw (Donegal) - Posts: 9884 - 10/07/2025 21:05:58 2624896 Link 1 |
People can actually read what is on the Donegal page. There is no need for such a disingenuous post.

There's a thread on Instagram and 90% of people are happy with the kits chosen. I get that you would take a different approach but it's not wrong just because you disagree ..... Whether you agree or not there's zero reason to be so outraged, you can surely commit to the idea the decision was made in good faith... goosey (Meath) - Posts: 65 - 11/07/2025 11:52:44 2624954 Link 1 |
General opinion in the media is Donegal will have far too much.Too much class and too much legs. goosey (Meath) - Posts: 65 - 11/07/2025 12:00:15 2624955 Link 0 |
Best of luck to the lads again on Sunday. This season has surpassed my wildest dreams and I think we have a great chance to continue the journey if we play to the best of our abilities and get a bit of luck at the same time. Ratoath Royal (Meath) - Posts: 1393 - 11/07/2025 12:23:45 2624960 Link 2 |

Why shouldn't they talk about all Ireland tickets? I've heard plenty of discussion from our supporters regarding tickets if win on Sunday. I notice you didn't comment on the Donegal forum you were referring to. And if they bother you, why even go there? Snide remarks aside, I hope it's a great game and Meath come out the right side of it. Well done to everyone involved in getting us this far. Best of luck Sunday lads. royalproxy (Meath) - Posts: 54 - 11/07/2025 15:59:25 2624986 Link 4 |
Agree on this point The media know Jordan morris so they go on about him. That said he is having a stellar year. His direct running in possession is a new development from last year. Costello is playing unbelievable football. Donal keoghan is - maybe? - at long last not our best defender. And that has taken a long time. Don't get me wrong as the song says he is still the king. But with Rafferty and Coffey we have 2 players who can mix it with the best. I would like to see same team as lined out against Galway. Keep Conor Grey as a tank to bring on in the last 20-30 minutes. I think Donegal will be focussed on Morris. Costello will hopefully make hay. The jersey colour thing is crazy Meath should play in Navy like the Offaly game. So obvious. Great that there is such support in the county that we can pretty much sell out Croke park because I'll tell you as someone who was there, there were not a lot of Meath fans in Portlaois this year. Maybe this is the spark thag lights the Meath revolution! cabbage (Meath) - Posts: 173 - 11/07/2025 17:35:40 2625005 Link 0 |
F*** me lad... Donal Keoghan has been by far our best defender for years now. Our best player full stop, In fact. Jesus wept

Think you're misreading what that poster said. What I take from their post is that Keogan has been our best defender for ages but this season, we've had other defenders step up so much that, even though Keogan has still been excellent, other defenders have done better (for example, Rafferty and Caulfield). Don't think it was derogatory towards Keogan, but rather that he's now one of a number of standout players in our defence having been the standout player on his own for years.

The very best of good luck to Robbie Brennan ,backroom team, and playing panel to day..This year has been all about showing continuous improvement. That has been achieved with honours to date. Hard to believe at Christmas last we would be where we are now in the hunt for ultimate honours..Full marks to all concerned including County Board for their role in steering the ship out of very choppy water only a few months ago.. For this poster it was never about WHEN we will win SAM .It was always about proper preparation to ensure improvement. WHEN we win SAM still is not the issue even. The improvement shown would suggest we are logically doing the right things to make it happen sooner rather than later. The most impressive part this year is that i don't recall anyone using excuses for anything, but using a positive can do attitude in a learning atmosphere nobull456 (Meath) - Posts: 1291 - 13/07/2025 12:17:40 2625237 Link 1 |
