Replying To Sheridan2010louth:  "San Mulroy out for Louth, he's the top scorer in division 2 , Craig Lennon has been a huge loss too, an all star last year. I think meath could not play well and win and that's not being arrogant, Louth just seem to be a real mess at the moment, they will be hoping monaghan can do them a favour and beat Down."
Louth saved the best till last. I did not see that coming. I think Louth should play all their home matches in Inniskeen. Played 3 and won 3.

They sure did and i definitely didnt see that coming, thought Tommy Durnin bossed the game from midfield. Louth were the much better team and my comment looks a bit foolish now. From a meath perspective I'd gladly never step foot in iniskeen again.

Not at all did your comments feel foolish. You only said what most people thought ( including myself and most Louth supporters). I live right on the Meath border and I have family and friends that are Meath supporters. Leinster needs every county in its province to put it up to the Dubs especially Meath, Kildare and Louth.

Very shocked by that news. Either they walked, which reflects badly on RB and, possibly, the players. Or they were pushed which reflects badly on them and then on RB for putting together the wrong management team. I hope it's the latter, and that the chemistry was just off and that RB acted decisively and that there are successors lined up.
But even if that's the case, it doesn't look good and not certain how any strong replacements can be brought in mid season. Bizarre news.

Possibly the reason for Meaths recent horrendous displays after what was such an encouraging start to the league.

Something like just doesn't just happen. There must have been a significant clash of personalities or philosophies in terms of team setup and play.

Meath GAA doing its best to remain a stuttering and stumbling basket case. Be it manager treatment, player dissent, the regression of club football or failure to redevelop Pairc Tailteann. It's one catastrophe to the next.

I hope there's an adequate and transparent explanation for this however I do not expect one.

These guys were brought in under Brennans ticket so you'd expect they would have each other's trust and understanding. What could have happened over the course of just 7 games......??

What ever has went on the last couple of games we were dreadful . The one thing you'd have expected with northern coaches involved was a solid defence we were the complete opposite for the last 3 league games our defence was dire .
We have went through more Selectors and coaches in the last few years more than any other team in Ireland so there's something serious wrong .
It was clear in the last 3 games the players weren't buying into what was happening or maybe ORourke was right about some of the players just not being up to it the ones that threw him under the bus .
If Brennan has the backing of the panel they need to stand up and be counted against Carlow and Offaly but if we loose to either of them and Brennan steps down Meath football is finished .

The breakdown seems to be very apparent in the last two games only as things looked quite rosy up to thar point. Still shows the fragility of the whole thing.

No panic !..........Clearly from the last 3 matches progress halted. In my view it was clear some players needed to review their position and maybe others need to do likewise. If that was the case then well done to the person who said enough is enough ..this needs to be addressed now.... Posters here correctly suggested the matter needed urgent .attention NOW . A spade is still a spade and great to see any evidence that the good of Meath football is to the forefront. No suggestion here that the 2 men resigning are to blame for anything. We dont know or dont need to know either. There obviously is a problem that hinders on field performance and whatever it takes to fix it so be it. Thanks to the 2 men for their efforts to date for the teams progress from last year. Thanks also to Robbie Brennan of course. Turn the corner deal with issues stalling progress. Clear the road to ensure we can continue where we left off 3 games ago!

From everything I've heard this is nothing player related and the players are as surprised as anybody else

Very surprised with the lads departures but they gone now so need to move on.
No disrespect to Carlow but we will win this one.

Biggest game of the year will be against Offaly who are full of confidence in this moment of time so I see this game now as a 50/50. Home advantage will be massive obviously but will need to put in a big shift. Offaly a very hard working team who are all playing for each other and the jersey so we will need to be at our best to turn them over and I think we can.

They don't have players to kick 2 pointers but they do have heart and work rate. Hopefully we have Jones and Coffey back for this one and Costello back top full fitness.

Think we can hurt them on the break and with the long high ball into their D.

Just hope we are up for it and want it.

Brennan brings in an all Ireland winning coach and an Ulster winning coach and something wasn't right. Prob a difference in playing style … let's be honest .. Brennan has the best club team in the country… not exactly a proven winner in many eyes

Tommy Durnin. What a player. He always puts in a decent shift for the Wee County. I was delighted that he was captain for Louth. It was his first time wearing the arm band for Louth. He was nominated for an all star last year but he missed out. It's a pity him and the great Paddy Keenan did not play together for Louth. You would have one of the best midfield pairings in the country.

No idea how he'll end up doing with Meath but he comes across as a decent and unassuming man in interviews.
