Has there ever been any insight as to why they walked away? or was it just a preference for other roles?

The county board need to ask him how he proposes to improve from their current standing with the lack of evidence of progress particularly since TC win. If that means additions or replacements in coaching setup, that needs to start ASAP. It is clear what has been done up to now is not and won't be good enough going forward. Colm wants the job, so needs to make recommendations and act on them to show improvement."
It is not Colms decision who the County board recommend to the delegates

Not sure the 2 boys walked away last year think they were pushed...Not needed any more last year by current management as they knew better. Both them lads have good track records with clubs and with county teams but sure what would they know I suppose in comparison to current management and their track records.

There is clearly a confusion on how we are playing (set up) so blame has to come from the top down there.
But as players would some of them now show leadership and have a chat with management.and explain we need a structure in place for the team we are putting out on field.
We are too nice now something that was never said about us.
An no ambition to really try to progress.we beat louth in league and basically said that's grand we're safe let's put the feet up till next year.
For change a STRONG character is needed in with orourke a tough Well tuned in coach that knows modern football.
Then we can build and hope to integrate the youth and players that are needed thru the next 3 years.

Any idea when the management review is meant to commence/conclude. Surely nothing stopping it happening as soon as possible, nothing new with come to light now about their performance

The famous rumours of new coaches coming into the current management team are already starting to fly about. These are the same rumours that were put about over the last two years and nothing came of them.

I'd take Harte in a heartbeat even though he's well beyond the height of his powers. Even in final years with Tyrone you got the impression players were getting frustrating with his tactical approach.

No word on when CB make a decision on COR. The quicker the better. Then they can nail down coaches before they have another gig lined up. Whether that's coaches for COR or Harte or AN Other is anyone's guess.

There's not a chance in hell the County Board will get rid of O'Rourke. Results mightn't be where the public expect but its plain sailing for them as a committee as he is not ruffling their feathers for anything, so there wont be a change and id be amazed if they don't extend his term. Especially if the stadium is to go ahead, the funding and forecasting of funds will be key in securing finances for that, so the more they can keep the house finances at a steady level the better for them.

I would agree with this statement, the only situation in which COR wont be in charge next year is if he decided to walk himself, the Co. Board would not have the appetite needed to implement change. The best we can hope for is that COR would contact someone like Gavin Devlin, Enda Mc Ginley etc. to come in as his no. 2. If Mickey Harte doesn't take on another job next year, Devlin could very well be a free agent.
