Wondering what people are predicting for the first round of the league?

It could take a few rounds most likely to see how it all settles down of course. Is it same as last year? 2 up and 2 down? No semi finals etc? Ratoath will be strong in division 1 obviously and teams who did well in the cups will hope to carry on. 3 games in 7 days for some though.

Friday Night
20:00 Donaghmore/Ashbourne V Dunshaughlin GAA- Ashbourne to overcome disappointment of Tuesday night with a big win over a Dunshaughlin down a lot of starters
20:00 Simonstown V St Colmcilles- Tough one to call going to say Colmcilles just
Saturday all 3:30
Ratoath V Gaeil colmcille- Tough one to call again especially with Ratoath having Eamon Wallace and Conor McGill but due to them missing Jack Flynn, McGowan and Joey Wallace I'll give the edge to Kells
Wolfe Tones v Skryne- Wolfe Tones at home should get better of Skryne without their main man
St Peter's Dunboyne V Trim- Two teams missing lots of players Dunboyne at home due to a slightly stronger panel
Summerhill V Na Fianna- Summerhill should be back to more of a full team after they were beaten well by Ashbourne due to a wedding the night before

Donaghmore/Ashbourne V Dunshaughlin Two teams with plenty coming through in terms of quality young players and will in my opinion be challenging within the next 2-3 years. For the league this weekend though I think Ashbourne will be that bit to strong. Dunshaughlin missing a few main players through Meath seniors and 20's will cost them in the end here, Don/Ash by 4
Simonstown V St Colmcilles- Same as the last poster, tough one here, based on what I saw from Simonstown against Ratoath I say Colmcilles hands down but you can't really use Feis Cup as a marker. I reckon a draw but if I had to pcik one I'd lean with St. Colmcilles by the minimum if Conlon plays
Ratoath V Gaeil Colmcille- Ratoath definitely the stronger of the two teams here even without Flynn and McGowan, however Kells always seem to be moving well from the start of every year and Ratoath can sometimes take a game or two to wake up. Heart says Ratoath and home advantage is a big help. Hopefully the Kells men are still celebrating their big Feis Cup success, Ratoath by 2
Wolfe Tones v Skryne Wolfe Tones at home should get better of Skryne, however with a few more lads in with Meath it will definitely test their squad strength, Tones by 3
St Peter's Dunboyne V Trim- Even with lads missing Dunboyne should win this comfortably, Trim in my opinion are heavily reliant on Lynch for scores and Dunboyne should have a bigger spread her. Dunboyne by 5+
Summerhill V Na Fianna- Will be a tight cagey affair, Summerhill the 2nd best team in the county behind Ratoath but Na Fianna on their day are a solid outfit and can trouble anyone. Home advantage to aid the Hill to win by 2

Donaghmore/Ashbourne V Dunshaughlin
Big test for Dunshaughlin who are missing 4 starters. Ashbourne's depth should see them get through this and go well in the league.

Simonstown V St Colmcilles
Cilles have better depth but overall Simonstown have more individual brilliance. If Simonstown have McKeever, Carlon, Tobin, McGrath and Kane then I just about give them the nod.

Ratoath V Gaeil Colmcille
Kells aren't going to get much stronger than the Feis Cup final. If Ratoath have Roger's, McGill, Wallace, McMahon and O Brien then it's hard to see anything other than a Ratoath win

Wolfe Tones v Skryne
Tones by a land slide, Skryne are falling off a cliff edge

St Peter's Dunboyne V Trim
I don't know if Dunboyne have the depth here, they are without McEntee, Jones, McCoy, Lavin, Lenihan. Can they actually replace the quality of them players. I see a Trim win here.

Summerhill V Na Fianna
Draw. Walsh missing for Na Fianna while Summerhill are missing Ryan and Franye. I reckon Na Fianna will put focus on the league and start trying to improve their depth because they have the individual quality in Queeney x 2, Devine, Walsh

3 games in a week caught up with Ashbourne last night, poor at tracking runners and not clicking up front.
Dunshaughlin full value for money, actually surprised at how good they were.

Or they were just being completely over hyped because they won a few Mickey mouse pre season cup games and aren't actually any better than they have been in the last couple of years.

Did Kinsella play for Dunshalughlin cause he was suspended for 20s?

Ruairi Kinsella did not play for Dunshsaughlin on Friday night. Also as that game was on the same time as the Meath under 20 game, only one of the the Dunshsaughlin six, played for their club in their win over Ashbourne, although some other Meath under 20 lads who didn't start on Friday night did get a chance to play for their clubs on Saturday and Sunday. A good win over Antrim, but they were very poor and only scored 1 point in the first half, by which stage the game was long over. Big crowd in Skryne for the game. Eoghan Frayne was class scoring 1-7.

Didn't know if he played or not, knew very few players from both teams

Dunshaughlin v Summerhill- Summerhill too strong for a under strength Dunshaughlin due to county commitments Shill by 4+

St. Colmcille's v Donaghmore / Ashbourne- The 2 pretends of Meath they promise so much but deliver nothing, Don/Ash by 3 over a young cilles team

Trim v Simonstown- Heard Simonstown are moving well with a new young team changing of the guard, Simonstown by 2+ against a Trim team missing there best players and blooding youngsters

Skryne v St Peter's, Dunboyne- Dunboyne while down a lot of key players will have too much strength and depth to beat this struggling Skryne team who will be one of favorites for drop without their key man Dunboyne 4+

Gaeil Colmcille v Wolfe Tones- Wolfe Tones only put up 2-3 5 scores against a poor Skryne, Kells backs will eat them alive while looking good going forward tones will make it difficult but Kells Men by 3+ in North Meath Derby

Na Fianna CLG v Ratoath- Repeat of last years semi and I expect same Result Na Fianna without Shane Walsh, Ratoath have too much depth in panel despite missing 5/6 Ratoath 5+

Dunshaughlin v Summerhill- A good result for Dunshaughlin last week against Ashbourne, however I can't see them repeating the feat against a very solid Summerhill outfit. Hill by 4+

St. Colmcille's v Donaghmore / Ashbourne- A shock defeat against Dunshaughlin last time out has me wondering if Ashbournes young guns are able for serious adult ball just yet, add in the fact that Colmcilles are home and it makes it a tough game to call. This will be a cloase game with no more than a score in it at the end, i'll give Ashbourne the nod again this time, but only just

Trim v Simonstown- Simonstown to have to muc here for an avergae Trim team missing their key men. Simonstown by 5+

Skryne v St Peter's, Dunboyne- Dunboyne with ease, Skryne not looking promising at all and will fall to a Dunboyne team with a number of young players starting to hit their early 20's and settling into Adult football

Gaeil Colmcille v Wolfe Tones- A tough game as both teams as very hard to write off despite what results they may have had previously. Home advantage plus the Tones struggling to score against a poor Skryne team s means I'm going with Kells by 3+

Na Fianna CLG v Ratoath- Na Fianna a tough nut to crack and Ratoath have always seemed to stumble over them, but never comfortably. They should do the same again and win by 3+

Dunshaughlin v Summerhill - Shock win for Dunshaughlin last time out, but Summerhill will have too much for them this time. Summerhill by 4.

St Colmcilles v Don/Ashbourne : Home venue should shade this one for Cilles. Ashbourne are missing 7 or 8 key players through injury and travelling. Had a lot of last years minor team playing last time out. Cilles by 2.

Trim v Simonstown : Trim are supposed to have lost a lot of players. Simonstown should win well here. Simonstown by 5.

Skryne v Dunboyne : Dunboyne missing a few key players but should have too much for a poor Skryne team. Dunboyne by 6.

Kells v Wolfe Tones : A heavyweight North Meath derby. Wolfe Tones will be missing their Meath contingent so Kells should shade it. Kells by 3.

Na Fianna v Ratoath : Can't see anything but a win for the county champions here. Should be stronger in the league than in previous years with less players with the county team. Ratoath by 8.

Dunshaughlin v Summerhill - Thought lack of first team players would have hammered Dunshaughlin but they proved me wrong. Summerhill are a good organised side who are hard to break down. Hill by 2

St Colmcilles v Don/Ashbourne : A battle of the pretenders. Cilles based on the fact they have a small bit more quality available

Trim v Simonstown : Draw, it's difficult to know where either side is at given they have both lost a lot of players

Skryne v Dunboyne : Skryne surprised me in the first game, by all accounts they set up defensively and frustrated Tones who have a very good attack. Skyrne by 1

Kells v Wolfe Tones : Kells are on a high but this is a local derby and Tones won't want to lose it. Tones by 2

Na Fianna v Ratoath : Rumor is Ratoath are missing a good chunk of players this weekend so I'll go with Na Fianna
