Must be on fire for the club. Here's hoping. Does'nt say a whole lot about the subs though.

O'Sullivan has been on panel all year but injured. Not sure when Gannon came back but great addition. Huge game tomorrow.

Sullivan has been on panel all year has been injured. Adam Gannon great addition with his experience especially as there's lots of injuries Stephen Morris Damien Healy Ger Dwane Kyle Donnelly all would be on the team I'd say if fit.

Absolutely brilliant win today especially with 14 men for alot of the game.

Disappointing to read that piece on the referee mistake in Mayo. A long day for everyone no doubt

Not a good look at all. Terrible on both sets of players also, undermining the work they've put in.
On another note, a win this weekend for the seniors puts them in pole position for a final. Some changes in the team in recent weeks, few noteable absentees such as Dwan and Healy.

Mad to think that after all Kildares good work in the league and just missing out on Division 1 hurling that they have been relegated back down to CR for next year. Shows the hugh difference in championship and league (also CR & JMCD)

Good win for our lads at the weekend, great to see majority off our scores coming from play and some familiar faces back out getting game time.
If we beat Sligo in the last game and we are into a final. Wont be easy going to Sligo but we should be getting the result there. no excuses.

Congratulations to our Senior team on reaching the final of the Christy Ring Cup. Derry will be the opposition.
This campaign has been remarkably 'goal shy'. A few goals in the final would make things a bit easier.

Great to be back in the Final again. Not much in it when we played them earlier so could go either way but apart from the London game we've been well able for anyone which was a bit of an off day.

Definitely need to start scoring goals though but winning on points alone does suggest the strength at the core of the team.

Hopefully we'll get our foot into the Joe McD and keep ourselves there but its a big step up.

Our performances haven't exactly been convincing at times, but if we beat Derry in Croker, then the team will have won both major trophies on offer to them at the beginning of the year and it will be a very successful season.
With the massive surprise of Kildare getting relegated to the Christy Ring after their performance in the league, it's imperative that we go up this season as you feel it's going to be much more difficult in 2024. Don't want to get stuck in the third tier for too long.

Almost made a complete balls of that, but held the fort at the very end to get over the line.

First half performance would suit the McDonagh very well. Second half performance would be more like the Lory Meagher.

Christ they don't make it easy. The first 45 minutes was a joy to watch. Some of the points we got from play were outstanding. But then they just stopped playing and were extremely lucky to get the win in the end. Had Derry remained with 15 men, they possibly would have had enough to get over the line.

But a win is a win regardless if they win by 2 or 20. Well done to the lads for the league and cup wins. It'll be tough going to stay in either 2A or the Joe McD but Meath hurling needs to be there if we're going to improve.

I think a lot of people didn't realise the affect of the wind in CP today. To complete at the McDonagh Cup level we will have to win more puck outs especially in the half forward line and create and take more goals. However that's for next year so enjoy this, well done to all involved.

Congratulations lads, we didn't make it easy for ourselves but job done and we're up to the Joe McDonagh which is the all important thing. The step up won't be easy. If the team continue to work hard and improve there's no reason why we can't target a win or two next year. It'll be a battle with Down to survive the grade.

I don't go to that many Meath hurling team matches (so I am certainly no expert on the county team) but I brought the family to the game on Saturday and delighted we won. Thought Meath were well the better team and Derry coming back into it was down to plenty of soft frees by the referee and a bit of nerves from Meath when we got close to the line.
Seeing your post about it will be hard to survive in Joe McDonagh next year brought into my mind what I've always wondered.
Coming from south Meath where there are plenty of either hurling only or dual clubs I've never understood why Meath can't be a bit more competitive in hurling. Recently in a discussion on Hogan stand the number of adult teams registered in each county for 2021-22 was put up (https://hoganstand.com/Forum/Details/112128?County=National&PageNumber=1&TopicID=112128) .
In terms of adult teams Meath were well ahead of Kildare/ Westmeath/ Kerry/ Down and Carlow. We were only marginally behind Offaly and Antrim. Is there an opportunity in the coming years to push on to becoming a good Joe McDonagh Cup team?.
Looking just at the figures for adult teams in various counties you would think Meath instead of always battling to stay in Joe McDonagh cup should be able to look at being competitive in it.
