Host clubs are not collecting at the 'gate' this year. They are promised a percentage of the online sales back from the county board later. So it falls on the county board to supply linesmen.

What's the story with intermediate football now in regards to quarter finals, 10 teams left so obviously preliminary qfs but how are they deciding who plays who, and does that mean quarter finals not for 4 weeks. apologies if this info somewhere else just haven't come across it

The host club was collecting in Skryne yesterday and Dunsaughlin last week so I don't know where your information is coming from

From what I can see there are 2 prelim quarters
Clann na Gael v Walterstown winners play Blackhall
Ballivor v Dunderry winners play Trim

Quarter and Semi Final Draw from there is:
Blackhall/Clanns/Walterstown .v. Trim/Ballivor/Dunderry
Nobber/Oldcastle v Duleek/Rathkenny

Isn't it admission by pre-purchased online tickets only.

If all tickets are not sold online you can pay at the gate of the surplus that is left.

Cant imagine you would reach the surplus quota ;)

On a footnote, I have been at 4 championship matches in Clonard the past two years, their stewarding and organisation is second to none, would even put them ahead of Navan. The amount of volunteers they have is a credit to the club and some club greats and ex players finding them to be directing traffic, Niall Walsh, Declan Toomey , The Campbell brothers and not to mention the main Man himself at the gate Mr Gannon.

Intermediate Relegation draw
Game 1 : Ballinlough V St. Pats - loser relegated

Winner of game 1 plays Moylagh with loser relegated

Syddan V Kilmainham with loser relegated

St. Pats have to win two games to stay up.

Would it be fair to say Kilmainham, Syddan and Moylagh would be the weakest 3? Only two of those at most will be relegated, not the fairest way of going things but I struggle to see other options given 3 need to go.

St. Pats and Ballinlough are unlucky that one of them will get the chop

Would totally agree, syddan have been very lucky with draw. Talking about draws, trim have come out right side of quarter /semi draw. They are worthy favourites but path to final a lot easier with duleek, rathkenny, Oldcastle, nobber in other side of draw

St Pats have won 1 c'ship game in 3 years, a relegation final last year so no more than the other four teams are here on merit. Any team being drawn out in that first fixture was being royally shafted though. 3 into 5 was never going to run smoothly.

What's a bigger issue here is the scheduling of these games - weekend of 9th/10th October.
Seems crazy to keep teams hanging around another month before kicking these off!

Is that scheduling true? What's the issue with the weekend after next?

According to an article on Hoganstand these are the dates alright.
Have heard mention of Cup competitions having to be played off first which is bizarre considering they were effectively pre-season challenge matches!

Am I correct in saying that there will be three relegated from Intermediate next year as well? If that's the case, will they revert to three groups of 6 next year and just relegate the teams that finish bottom of each group?

13. The 2021 Intermediate Football Championship shall consist of 20 teams drawn randomly in 5
groups each containing 4 teams. The top 2 teams in each group as decided by Regulation 3 and TO
6-21 shall contest the knock-out stages in a predetermined draw (10 teams in total). Intermediate
winners shall be promoted to SFC each year.
i. Preliminary Quarter Finals (1) B2 v C2, (2) D2 v E2.
ii. Quarter Finals (3)A1 v 1, (4)B1 v 2, (5)A2 v C1, (6)D1 v E1
iii. Semi Finals 3 v 4 and 5 v 6.
3 teams will be relegated from IFC to JFC at the end of 2021 - and 3 more in 2022 - to bring the IFC
from 20 to 16 teams.
For 2021, the bottom team in each group (5 teams in total) shall be entered into an open draw to
contest the 2021 IFC Relegation Playoffs as follows:
 1v2 - loser relegated
 winner of 1v2 plays 3 with loser relegated
 4v5 loser relegated.

Only 3 games next weekend .... bit mad but sure thats the way..Two back JFC games Friday night already predicted

Senior
OMahonys v Moynalvey .... Two teams that won a game not many thought they would. OMahonys seem to be aging but put up a good enough display v Ratoath while Moynalvey where in a tough group also and had 3 fairly decent displays. Moynalvey might have enough.

IFC
Walterstown v Clann na Gael... Suprised Walterstown only drew v 14 man Oldcastle They had looked good and would have wanted to make a straight Quarter Final. Ruairi ODowd back can only be good. Clan struggled to beat Moylagh but gave a good account of themselves v a rampant Trim. Maybe a mild suprise with Clan winning.

Ballivor v Dunderry... Dunderry are moving along well with one blot a defeat to a strong purposeful Rathkenny side Ballivor I think progressed from a weaker group and maybe that points to a Dunderry win

What's the story with the randomness of the fixtures for the next few weeks? Has their been any explanation given for this? Some knockout and relegation matches in the Intermediate and Senior Championships are on this weekend? Doesn't make any sense to break clubs momentum by having a month break. But then again the Meath GAA seem to be pretty useless when it comes or organizing fixtures. They can't make a plan for two weeks in advance, never mind have fixtures mapped out from the start to the end of a competition. Also the Meath GAA website is not the clearest or easiest site to figure out. Could have been made a lot more simple.
