Well done lads! Relatively comfortable for most of the second half, even playing with 14 men for most of it though possibly took the foot off the gas towards the end when the game was pretty much won. Some excellent scores from play, pick of the bunch being Conor Ennis' outside of the boot point from the right in the first half.

best Meath Minor team I've seen in a long time, better than 2012 for me . Leaders all over the pitch. Well done to all involved.

Significant achievement for Meath and leinster football.

Meath are first leinster team to reach minor All Ireland in last 9 years since 2012. If Meath win the All Ireland minor final they would be only the third leinster team to win All Ireland minor title in last 21 years since 2000. The only leinster All Ireland minor winners since 2000 are Laois in 2003 and Dublin in 2012.

Leinster All Ireland minor Finalist and winners since 2000
2001 Dublin Finalist
2002 Meath Finalist
2003 Dublin and Laois Finalist Laois winners
2011 Dublin Finalist
2012 Meath and Dublin Finalist Dublin winners
2021 Meath Finalist Winners TBA

So since 2000 the Record for Leinster teams is below
Dublin and Laois have won 1 minor All Ireland title,
Dublin have reached 4 All Ireland minor finals, Meath have reached 3 All Ireland minor finals and Laois have reached 1 All Ireland minor final.

For Meath a win in final it would be significant also as it would Meaths first underage All Ireland at underage in 29 years since 1992. Meath have won minor All Ireland titles in 1992 1990 1957 and reached the final in 1977 1993 2002 2012 and now 2021. Meath won their only U21/20 All Ireland in 1993.

I agree they play good quality football also. O Bric will take them over at U19 with development panel and then U20 team in 2023 with them. All good very comfortable on the ball, I would go further this is best Meath underage team since early 90s, since 1992 1993 teams. I would put them above 2002 and 2012 minot Finalist, neither of them won Leinster.

Standout players are Liam Kelly captain, who looks a future Meath senior full back in the future, he is a top class defender. Ennis is a real good tight corner back. Leonard wing back was man of the match has been excellent All year. Tomas Corbett is very good centre back. At midfield Wilson kinlough form a very good partnership. In half forwards Sean Emmanuel really is a third midfielder. And for me Sean Emmanuel along with full back liam kelly will be playing for Meath seniors in coming years. Quality footballers. Corcorcan is a classy inside forward. O Murchu a good target man. And Finley was very good today, a good finisher. It looks like Tyrone in final. Tyrone will be favourites. But this young footballers are a proper quality Meath team. They play with confidence no fear. They have strong men up the centre of their team Kelly Corbett Wilson kinlough Emmanuel O Murchu. They play good quality kicking game,,can mix it up. It wud be great to win next Sat. Hopefully the final is in Croker. Playing in Croker would be a valuable experience for these guys and All Ireland finals should be played in Croker.

From what I've seen it is in Croker. But it's in Croker on Saturday as a curtain raiser to the senior semi final. To which tickets are already sold out! I hope this isn't true as no Meath people would get to go which would be a disgrace

spot on keegan, Along with Liam Kelly and Sean Emannuel as you mentioned I think Mossy Corbett would be a certainty for me to be involved with the seniors in the coming years too, I would say they are the 3 most ready players and then a bit further down the line the likes of Kinlough, Lennard, Ennis, O Murchu etc could feature too. Hard not to get really excited by the bunch of players.

Got to say the best Meath underage team I have seen since Giles/Geraghty one. Better than 02 and 12. Some serious good players and even the goalie is strong and confident (couldn't really do much for either goals). Ennis is some talented back. Midfield were very very solid. Forwards too. Actually I can't really say anyone had a poor game.
Now two things need to happen.
1, this group needs to be supported (financially/academically/emotionally.
Ie, ensure they can do their studies, they not out of pocket, and they have a good relationship with a strong management team who they can turn to for things even outside of football.
2, if anyone with a Aussie accent comes within 10 feet of them, drop the head into the Aussie.
Hand on heart if this group develops as they should and are properly nurtured and remain within football there is NO REASON they cannot win a senior all Ireland in years to come.
This is one hell of a exciting team.
Well done to all.
Hon the royal

It's true. And an absolute disgrace. Tyrone will have 12k and Meath lads 0.

There's 40k allowed tomorrow, why not have 40k there next Saturday? I can't understand their logic. Or lack off .

Very impressive display today, every line looked comfortable and played like a team who belived in themselves, leaders all-over the pitch and were in control for majority of game. Final has potential to be a cracker as Tyrone looked very good against Cork and could have won by much more but for some fine saves from Cork keeper. Strange decision to go with CP as venue due to ticket constraints and Meath will be largely dependent on support from outside the county. Expect we will get a small allocation of tickets (even allowing for offical stance is tickets are sold out). Just my opinion but I imagine the discrepancy between tomorrows crowd and next week may come down to the rise in cases and vaccine hesitancy in NI, hense the caution with crowd numbers. CB need to step up and at least attempt to get as many tickets as possible, these lads deserve nothing less.

its a very good point .. its unbelievable the meath county board won't fight for a stand alone venue for another date .. they don't care about supporters

But the football final in 2 weeks has 40k.

So you've 40k attendance either side of this game.... Ya couldn't make it up...

Not surprised by the CB anymore, went by Dunganny today and 1 sign of a flag or sign wishing the Minors luck.

Why such the poor Meath support at the game? Was 1,500 tops at that match in the 2,000 allowed attendance and 1,000 of that was Sligo supporters.

That's disgraceful. Absolutely horrendous. Seriously someone should lose their job over that.
Why wouldn't they get signs made up and flags should have been everywhere.
The amount of effort been put into promoting and pr is a absolute shambles.

Well done to all involved, brilliant to reach the all Ireland final. With a man down they didnt drop their heads and weathered what Sligo threw at them. Some very fine footballer's coming through hopefully they stick at it and coached properly and make the breakthrough in a few years. This management team are leaving no stone unturned and hopefully county board will back them and keep them all together over the next few years. Its a good boost to the county and all who have put immense time in underage with these lads and hopefully they can go all the way now and win it.An Mhi Abu.

So the Meath centre of excellence can't put up a sign or a flag for their minor Leinster champions in a all ire semi final ?? You ok with that ??
Tell me one other county that would happen in ?? NOT ONE, nothing to do with supporters going or not going, why would they bother when dunganny can't bother it's hole to recognize the team. Disgraceful.

Very impressive performance but will probably need more for Saturday but this bunch is well capable. Was worried about complacency but I'd say it was well drilled into the team that we couldn't have an off day. An all round team with no real star individual. Hard to believe I was worried at half time vs Louth in our first game and now we are in with a good shout of an All Ireland.
