Jones near fit. Even if he were, there's no way he will start v the Dubs. Thought midfield worked hard today without having to contest kickouts.

Wexford gave the Dubs a good game today. Hope Meath do not choke for the third time against the Dubs in two weeks time. This Dubs team can be beaten. Jack L (None) - Posts: 3141 - 04/07/2021 22:33:46 2356302 Link 0 |
Well lads, this could be a little different. I truly believe we are not as good as we were. Cluxton gone is a major and I can't see THIS team win an All Ireland without class like Mannion and McCaffrey, I don't think this side can afford those loses. realdub (Dublin) - Posts: 8678 - 04/07/2021 22:36:38 2356309 Link 9 |
Good side But I cant see Andy McEntee making too many changes to start apart from McGill 1. Colgan 2 Keoghan 3. McGill 4 Ryan 5. Hickey 6 S McEntee 7. Reilly 8 Harnan 9 Menton 10 Devine 11 McMahon 12 Costello 13 Morris 14 O Sullivan 15 J Wallace Some great impact from the Bench when need , Eamon Wallace , Newman , McEntee 2 conlons , Reilly Bear10 (Meath) - Posts: 463 - 05/07/2021 10:06:14 2356375 Link 0 |
James Mcentee isnt fit enough to start a game against Dublin either, Lets be real, he can come come on with 20 left like yesterday 1. Colgan 2. Lavin 3. McGill 4. Keoghan 5. Hickey 6. Shane Mcentee 7. Fionn Reilly 8. Menton 9. Harnan 10. O'Sullivan 11. McMahon 12. Jack O'Connor 13. Jordan Morris 14. Newman 15. Eamon Wallace Thought it was interesting listening to Andy post game yesterday, he sounded excited that he got the chance to give Jack O'Connor more minutes, maybe he takes a flier on him against Dublin, he is certainly one of the few real exciting young player we have, think Eamon wallace has impressed every game he has come on this year and Andy seems to never give up on him, Praying Mickey Newman has a good 2 weeks prep now and is fit to start, maybe that's wishful thinking from me. Really like moving keoghan to the full back line, feel like he adds a bit more steel and toughness that has been missing back there. I suppose looking at the 15 I named there the real worry would be lack of height so maybe Andy sticks with Ethan Devine as an extra tall around the middle. redser123 (Meath) - Posts: 404 - 05/07/2021 10:08:11 2356377 Link 0 |
Is Lavin injured?

Positives in the performance and the spread of scorers but one swallow doesn't make a summer. Meath are a top 10 county at the moment whereas Longford are not even in the top 20 so a win should have been expected but the performance and the size are a really pleasant surprise. Next weekend we'll find out a lot more about ourselves against a Dublin team possibly starting to show cracks. Heres hoping! Unconvincing but comfortable against both Wexford and Donegal recently. If the Leinster Council have any heart or brain, they would put this game in Pairc Tailteann. This has to be pushed for. Its not a Leinster Final. I would even take Port Laoise or Tullamore. Anywhere but Croke Park. BigJoe14 (Meath) - Posts: 998 - 05/07/2021 12:00:26 2356476 Link 1 |
Makes sense to play it in Croker as a double header. More people will get to the match than if it was played in Navan Portlaoise or Tullamore. A half empty Croker is no real advantage to Dublin. Dublin have not played a match in the capital this year. Surely the GAA/Leinster Council should maximize their revenue by playing the double header in Croker. It is ok to play first round matches outside Croker but semi finals and finals should be played there. Jack L (None) - Posts: 3141 - 05/07/2021 12:21:52 2356489 Link 0 |
badly needed Lift after last couple of weeks negative Press. Just like a bit of sunshine, the display & score line yesterday lifts the feelings around the Midweek Minor Leinster title....it just gives a lovely boost when most needed. Now as AFB says....we wont get carried away, and crucially Andy & Squad wont make the same mistake as last autumn . So as one poster put it earlier, lets just put some pride & respect back into our performance for the next day, and see where that takes us. I do get a sense that the Squad pulled together after recent kafuffle over Bernie & Co. , We can leave how we might compete with Dublin to another Day, and just thank the lord that we have another day out Thelongwoodslasher (Meath) - Posts: 403 - 05/07/2021 12:28:36 2356491 Link 0 |
there's exactly a 0.00% chance Seamus Lavin doesn't play.

So everyone thinks that McGill is a certainty to get his place back?

Can't see James Mc starting I'm afraid but what an impact of bench - Devine will start as andy trusts him to do a job on the pitch . McGill is not a dead cert to start as he could go with Lavin , Ryan Keoghan
