Massive congrats to the women today. Meath football well and truly pulled from the doldrums and into the 21st century. Brilliant to see all the colour out over the county over last few weeks. Kids tapping ball all over the county in meath jerseys...what a brilliant feeling. Well done to all!

Haven't heard noise like that from a Meath crowd in such a long time. Bloody brilliant performance and incredibly mature game management, holding possession and wasting precious minutes. Could never have guessed that they were in their first ever senior final.

Well done to the Meath support as well. Easily outnumbered Dublin and were like the 16th player at times.

This Meath team has and management has to rank right up there with past great Meath teams who graced croke park

What a day a Croke park. Amazing stuff from start to finish I enjoyed every minute of that game. I brought my daughter she can take or leave it mostly. But she was shouting and cheering for Meath. Hopefully she got the GAA bug. And hopefully other young royals boys and girls have be inspired to today. I am still buzzing here. I haven't enjoyed a day like that croke park for very long time.

Can only echo everything that's already been said but that last point especially and my overriding feeling tonight.

Locally speaking I probably haven't seen Dunboyne like that since the 90s when Sean Boylan would lead our winners back home, not sure even the Louth Leinster win ranked there in terms of the excitement and volume of green and gold from notably young folk around the village. I can't emphasise the interest these girls rightfully galvanised.

It was emotional and from friends around the countys reports it appears to be replicated all over. Beating the Dubs in kepak again on the biggest stage, it's hard to find the words and we can only be grateful for this current crop. They will inspire people all over the country undoubtedly and will get the plaudits they deserve, but most importantly they have woken the sleeping giant that is Meath GAA.

The last two weekends in croker have been very special, let's embrace it and build on this. We have our catalyst what can be achieved. An Mhí Abu

Absolutely incredible. Out thought, out worked and really dominated the 4 in a row Dubs for almost all of the game. Between this and the minors last week the county is on a massive high. There's an entire generation (anybody under 30) of Meath men and women who had never seen an all Ireland win and they've now seen 2. That creates a new interest and attachment to the county. I could see this first hand in Dunboyne, a town where unfortunately there'd often be Dublin flags and all week there was none to be seen, and there were so many kids with Meath jerseys buzzing for it. Maybe I'm getting caught up in it but it feels like the tide is turning

Sincere congrats to Meath Ladies on a wonderful victory yesterday.

Disappointed the Jackies didn't get the 5 in a Row - but they didn't deserve it yesterday.
Started off too slow, panicked with the kick-out's, their passing and their shots.
Too many wides and had no answer to the Meath defensive strategy, and Meath intensity.

What Eamonn (and his back room team) has achieved with this Meath ladies football team in such a short space of time is absolutely remarkable.

Originally from Gowna in Cavan, he and his daughters were synonymous with the development of ladies football in Boardsmill, Co. Meath.

When Meath won the All-Ireland U16 ladies title in 2009, he managed them and was assisted on the sideline by 2 of his daughters. Another of his daughters was on the team.

From losing 7-22 to 3pts in a game in 2015, he took over the Meath Ladies Senior team in 2017.
Under his management he has taken Meath Ladies football out of the doldrums, Meath won on a Div 3 title in 2019. and have now won back to back All Ireland Titles - Intermediate last year and now Senior All Ireland champions. With a Div 2 League title in between, earlier this year.

Similar to the Dublin v Mayo and Tyrone v kerry games recently, the better management team and tactics on the day, along with the greater fitness, intensity, hunger & desire of the players, won out.

ps. Saw a funny clip of your team returning last night to Trim from Croke Park.
(Must have been over 2,000 supporters on the route from Batterstown to Jack Quinn's to Knightsbrook Hotel - crazy joyous scenes and a superb welcome home for the Meath ladies).
Eamonn's wife was waiting for him in the Hotel lobby with a pint of Guinness in her hand to give to him.
He was asked by a reporter had it sunk it yet, and Eamonn looked down at his pint, cheekily smiled & winked and said - It will probably sink in in a couple of minutes, cheers.!!

;o) - anyway Congrats again. Fair play.

Super…Super….Super from start to finish. Learned a lot from the Cork game and kept the back shored up for the entire game. Has to be up there with the greatest ever performances by any team in any code ever!!! Massive Congratulations to all. And then we will have next year, but that's another year. Relish those moments.

This is key.

We have to get buy-in to the county from the thousands of Dubs who have immigrated into the county. Its the only route back to success. This past week will definitely have helped. A great week for the county.

A wonderful victory for the ladies team yesterday. Have not seen better and coming from a lower grade last year and beating a Dublin team with such experience having been unbeaten in 4 years. The showed great character, great fitness, great athleticism all over the pitch and the discipline and hunger to go with those attributes. A very interesting match to watch from start to finish with a very high level of skill. The management deserve great credit and this was a good example of what sport is all about-everyone enjoying themselves both players and management.
