New Players For The Intercounty Championship

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Hey folks, just wondering if there's anyone showing up in the club championship that Andy might consider bringing in for the championship. Seeing as we're on a truncated season, players in good form are essential.

A player on the panel already but Jordan Morris is certainly playing his way into more game time with high scores against Ratoath and Simonstown. Shane Walsh seems to be in poor enough form scoring wise anyway and I seen him against Dunboyne in the league and he struggled badly against Seamus Lavin. Campion back in the fold is great too. Oisin Reilly was really impressive against Dunboyne if he can keep that up he'd certainly be deserving of a call up to the squad

Yeah Oisin Reilly is playing very well lately his high tally against Dunboyne won the game for Kells. he would fit well at Center forward in the county panel for the sharp season.

Seamus Mattimoe would be an ideal fit for the county panel he can ace a score from almost anywhere and is very athletic.

Yes i fully agree we should, however with Colgan back for DA i doubt Andy doesn't revert to type and Colgan is in the 1 jersey for the championship.

Cathal Hickey for Senechalstown playing well and Luke Mitchell for Dunshaughlin still scoring under pressure Both players have developed physically from minor and are taking on responsibility for their clubs that have had better seasons. Both are still under 20 next year

i agree with you Cathal Hickey is turning into a fine footballer and was certainly Senechalstown best payer on Saturday,, Luke Mitchel does score alot but mostly from Free's , don't think he has yet shown that he can win his own ball at the Senior grade.

Seamus Mattimoe is mentioned almost every year as a potential county player! I have seen him play - and he is good but surely management have looked at him at this point! Has he been in the county set up?

Theres looking at a player and actually given a lad a game.hes been on squads but i cant remember actually getting game time.so if your not in team you cant get to showcase your talents.

Just seems strange that he hasn't been given a run out! he seems to be a very consistent performer with the club and every year for the past 3/4 years people call for him to be in the squad. You would think that he'd have gotten a run in the O'Byrne or the League
Who from Kells is involved with the County? Oisin Reilly seems to be going well in Midfield

In fairness to Colgan he has been superb for Don Ash, easily best keeper i have seen this term. Hickey absolutely flying for Seneschalstown, wouldn't have luke Mitchell in that bracket yet. Ronan Jones is another who is flying at the minute. On a side note some of the established county players/Panelists are not showing well, ie James Mc Entee, Shane Mc Entee, Cillian o Sullivan, Shane Walsh, Bryan mc Mahon to name a few

James McEntee has been in flying form for UCC by all accounts. Anyone from Junior or Intermediate that would be deserving of a call up to the panel?

I think Sean Coffey from Ballinabrackey could be called in soon, he still only 18 but is a serious talent that will fit into our half back line in the very near future.
