It appears the Minor Championship continues in the South anyway, so Leinster final is still on.

Does anybody know when this final might happen? All games are allowed to start on June 7th, from a small bit of research the LC starts on the 9th and ends around the 25th. Probably most likely that the Leinster final is only played post leaving cert at the very end of June/start of July unless an elite sport exemption is given like it was last Autumn/Winter. Anybody heard anything about it. If these lads can win the final it'll be a well-earned title. Think this competition has now been paused three or four times and has been going for 6 months

These players are all adult players now and their club managers will be wanting them to prepare for club championship so you could see problems coming down the line with a restart date of July. Also the matter of the 2021 competition to be ran.
It would be a shame if the competition wasn't played to a finish but I can see it being scrapped unfortunately

In 2017 there was an under 18 and under 17 championship ran concurrently. And there's only 7 games left to finish the entire championship, (3 in Ulster, Leinster final, AI semi finals and final) so I don't think it will be cancelled and it would be absolutely awful PR for the GAA. But it is so up in the air that you could be right. Hope not though. Enjoy watching this team play

Those were 2 separate competitions, their are 3 players on the 2020 panel that are eligible for the 2021 competition so running it concurrently surely isn't an option?
Who off the squad should we be looking to make an impression with their club senior team this year? If you look at the 2019 squad I think only 5 played Senior Club football last year (granted a short season) and many of the squad were from Intermediate/Junior clubs (no disrespect intended)

Caulfield from Trim is a big prospect and could play 1st team this year , o Donoughue strong enough also alongside Frayne and Mcdonnell from Summerhill. Maybe Gray from Dunshaughlin could feature as has a lot of the attributes needed

They weren't separate squads. Liam Byrne, Sean Ryan, Jordan Morris and Shane Walsh played both that year. Archer played both for Dublin

Great to have a date for it. I can't find any other info online. Do you know when the 20's and the 2021 minors might be?

From todays Indo
LEINSTER U-20 competitions will also get under way in early July, but to avoid overlap between players who may double up on their county's 2020 and 2021 minor football squads or 2020 minor footballers who make the 2021 U-20 squad, the winners of the Meath/Offaly minor final will be given a bye into both the Leinster minor and U-20 competitions while the losers will enter those competitions at quarter-final stage.

Thanks for that. The article says that under 20's games are midweek and it does say that unless you're knocked out of the senior that you can't play 20's. I thought this rule was scrapped because Shane Walsh was playing both last year. But the rule must be related to both championships. Presents a huge problem for the 20's if Matt Costello, Cathal Hickey and Jack Flynn are playing senior

He did, now that really comes into question because the championships directly clash with each other and the rules actually do prevent the lads playing both. Would anybody have an issue with the 3 or 4 under 20's lads playing the league for the seniors and then when games clash they go back and play under 20. I certainly wouldn't have a problem with it

Congratulations to the 2021 Minor management announced yesterday and the best of luck to Cathal O' Bric and the 6 other members of his backroom team.
I am sure they are all very good coaches and it is good to see Marcus Brennan involved.
The only criticisms I would have is that of the 7 members of the management, there is not one from South Meath or East Meath clubs, so like the whole area south an east of Navan, including Dunboyne, Ashbourne, Ratoath, Dunshaughlin, Skryne, Summerhill, St Colmcilles, etc, and of all the clubs represented in last years Division 1 Minor Championship, there is no representation on the Minor management from even one of those clubs.

Doesn't bother me too much tbh. If there's no players from the clubs you've mentioned who make up division 1 then there'll be eyebrows raised but I doubt that'll happen. Let's hope we can win two Leinster minors in the one year. Would be some achievement
