Seneschalstown V Dunshaughlin. Hard to call this one, but I feel The Furze have more firepower. Really feel Dunshaughlin are bit toothless up front and this knockout relegation football is about having the abilty to score. Just feel Dunshaughlin have to really play well to win - Verdict Seneschalstown by odd score Curraha V Nobber. Nobber have better firepower but they leak at lot. Even beating Simonstown they shipped 20 points and 5-20 V Ratoath and a bagful v Scrin. I know Curraha are the same, it will be high scoring but I fancy Curraha to see this one out - Verdict Curraha Summerhill V Ratoath - Ratoath played very well when they got going agaisnt Nobber, away to hot up front and great to watch. They played Scrin and the Scrin's mens industry had them floundering at times. However they did see it out comfortably in the end. Against Simonstown they were very lucky indeed. Outplayed and behind for 3 quarters, the Navan boys should have had them beaten when they missed 3 or 4 easy chances with 5 minutes to go. However they failed to score them and Ratoath grab a free to win. That test might actually awaken Ratoath. Summerhill seemed to know how to win and although they got it put up to them V Moynalvey and Tones, both those sides are good so Summerhill will be no pushover. However I feel Ratoath have superior forwards and Ben mcGowan and Gavin McGowan are serious scoring threats out the field as well. Verdict Ratoath Na Fianna V Kells Kells can win this. If Kells cant beat Na Fianna they can throw their hat it, cause they wont get a better chance Talking_Sense (Meath) - Posts: 209 - 14/09/2020 16:20:43 2292078 Link 1 |
If there's one thing I've learned this year it is that you simply can't judge games in these times. Form is almost thrown out the window with the short season and especially due to the extra week teams have had off to train and prepare I think all the games are near impossible to call. Results could just as easily go one way as the other Greengiant99 (Meath) - Posts: 15 - 14/09/2020 17:09:08 2292085 Link 1 |
Don't fall for that ould reverse psychology!

Ans: Meath. Logic? Open draw in football so in theory all groups have the possibility of being equal in hurling Groups A1 and A2 comprised the reputed 6 stronger teams and going on the previous year the top 2 went directly to semifinals with next 2 playing the top 2 in the B group in quarterfinals and that pattern was more or less followed this year. It just goes to show how well meaning decisions of one year can return to haunt you sometime later.

Still there chasing a double of sorts. I was just trying to explain why there were 2 quarter finals in hurling as opposed to football. Problem for the County Board was that if they went open draw in the hurling they would not be able to have the A and B system next year. I think you will find that no team that did not loose a game lost out in the football but Clan Na nGael won one drew one and were out of the hurling championship on score difference. So there are hard luck stories in both codes. MillerX (Meath) - Posts: 1080 - 15/09/2020 17:46:35 2292309 Link 0 |
The county board put hurling fixtures ahead of football this year and last year, which they are entitled to do if they want

Seneschalstown V Dunshaughlin - Hard one to call this although I think Seneschalstown might just scrape through but I've no exact science in thinking that Richieq (Meath) - Posts: 3744 - 15/09/2020 21:53:59 2292356 Link 20 |
Seneschalstown V Dunshaughlin - Should be tight enough but will go with Dunshaughlin to win. Seneschalstown had a great first win but seem to be getting worse each game Maestro (Meath) - Posts: 584 - 18/09/2020 15:53:35 2292928 Link 0 |
Dunshaughlin in relegation again must be disappointing for such a big club... should have enough to stay up all the same glenny (Meath) - Posts: 1116 - 18/09/2020 21:38:15 2292968 Link 0 |
They have been bad for a good few years now Living on past glory Compared to there neighbours Ashbourne, ratoath, Dunboyne they are a long way off Nobber or the ha won't be shaking in there boot head4dblackspot (Meath) - Posts: 513 - 18/09/2020 22:23:14 2292973 Link 0 |
Agreed, not just beaten tonight but well beaten it seems, I had a sneaky feeling the losers of tonight's game would be the ones to go down, that feeling is a bit stronger now

Was at the Dunshaughlin V Seneschalstown game and the Black and Amber are in real trouble of going down to Intermediate I feel. Stuffed 2-19 v 2-8 and Seneschalstown played well with out having to really extend themselves . Dunshaughlin chronic poor at the back, defenders could not win their own battles or get out in front. They lost Ray Maloney early and when Jack Crimmins went of after the break they folded completely. Up front they are expecting too much of young Costello in half forward line and of Mitchell inside albeit the latter did not 1-8 (quite a few frees). They look very young, very light and have no leaders. Look liked an U21 team and on the performance tonight they won't beat either Curraha or Nobber . Fine club but Dunshaughlin are rudderless right now, take a miracle to keep them up. Talking_Sense (Meath) - Posts: 209 - 19/09/2020 02:12:14 2292989 Link 0 |
Was not at game but heard exactly that Maybe best thing for them would be to rebuild in intermediate, they have a lot of young players and not up to senior yet head4dblackspot (Meath) - Posts: 513 - 19/09/2020 10:52:50 2293008 Link 0 |
Was there too and unfortunately for Dunshaughlin they were outplayed in the second quarter which laid a great platform for Seneschalstown to kick on from and they never looked back Dunshaughlin started well in the first quarter but seemed to slow the game down for some reason The return of Joe as a talisman turned the Yellow Furze around and were hugely improved from their showing against O Mahonys in the previous game Cathal Hickey was very good as was Dylan Keating and Cathal Finnegan with their pace causing all kinds of problems that Dunshaughlin had no answer to Matt Costello didn't influence as much as he normally would scoring one point and Luke Mitchell scored 1-5 from open play with 3 points from frees Both players assuming responsibility beyond their years Overall a poor showing from Dunshaughlin with the next game being an era defining one for the Black and Amber 20 years on from their first Keegan Cup ABK67 (Meath) - Posts: 62 - 19/09/2020 14:08:18 2293026 Link 0 |
Kells should be scared. 0 for 3 in my senior predictions this weekend so far and I've backed them tomorrow. Ratoath Royal (Meath) - Posts: 1374 - 19/09/2020 19:00:18 2293060 Link 19 |
