Personally, having seen both teams play against us, Longwood would be worse. Nobber were on fire for the first 15 minutes and Jordan Morris is an excellent player. Also, I think Nobber are missing a large portion of their IFC winning team from last year, not least the manager of their opponents on Friday.

A bit off topic but....did the Bracks AND Duleek both change their clashing home jerseys to change into different jerseys which also clashed??! Why didn't one of them wear their original kit?! meathgaa91 (Meath) - Posts: 48 - 04/08/2020 19:06:55 2286372 Link 0 |
I'm more surprised neither had an alternative kit considering green would be one of the most popular colours in the county (especially with gold) so they'd clash very often with other teams colours and need a change set. I can understand having both teams wear other clubs' jerseys. Whatever about wearing your own alternative jersey against another team, it'd be a bit unfair to have only one team wear a totally different club's jerseys while the other gets to wear their own. At least it's "equal" if they both wear the wrong jerseys. CastleBravo (Meath) - Posts: 1668 - 05/08/2020 09:35:29 2286416 Link 19 |
I was at this game as it took place in my home club. Both teams wore their alternative jersey (BB - White and D/B - Yellow). The picture from the article comes from their final in the cup last year I believe. On the game itself, BB let an eight point lead slip. I would have thought they would be one of Trim's biggest threats this year but ultimately a poor D/B team were able to completely overwhelm them in the second half. It will be very hard for BB to pick themselves up for the next game. Results elsewhere suggest a red and white year is not unlikely. quincyadams (Meath) - Posts: 7 - 05/08/2020 09:51:20 2286422 Link 0 |
Yee are the biggest bottlers in meath, Trim will always fall short, should be a senior club with the size of the area but always fall short the last 10 years

Bracks away jersey is yellow so DB could have green, only need for one team to change in my opinion, however the club have invested in a third kit so we went for all white with a small green trim

Watched the game LIVE on Facebook, bracks were very impressive in the first half but returned with a total of 16 wides which has been their downfall the last few years, thought the referee let DB back into it with giving the bracks number 6 a black in the second half, DB should have had 2 blacks in first half but he gave yellows as bracks were blitzing them at the time, in fairness to DB they went for it and played very well for the last 20 minutes when up that man, both teams will come on from the game and every game is a cup final now.will be expecting a response from oldcastle, this group will go to the last kick of a ball id say.

Trim are a dual club that have traditionally been more hurling than football. Yes, they should have won more at football but that was often when they were competing in final stages of football and hurling on consecutive weeks. Very rarely have the Trim footballers got an exclusive run at it. The footballers need a good run of games and exclusive training which they don't get many years and I cant see that changing this year so it will be touch and go again especially in an intermediate grade hat has 3 teams down from senior last year. stillaroyal (Meath) - Posts: 225 - 05/08/2020 16:26:06 2286473 Link 0 |
Anybody can win it this year, a lot of luck needed with avoiding injuries etc, could be a big shock in intermediate.

Last year was an anomaly. Trim took the eye off the ball before the Nobber game. That won't happen again, I fully expect to see us playing and competing with the big boys next year. Don't agree with there being a shock, lots of poor teams will qualify for the knock outs. Syddan for example look fairly sure out of their group. Not a great example of a strong Int team. Honestly can only Walterstown being competitive but they wouldn't be able to handle Trim's forwards. Trim's for the taking. quincyadams (Meath) - Posts: 7 - 05/08/2020 19:15:14 2286498 Link 1 |

The stalking is getting a bit weird. Funny how you initially tried to claim that you hoped Bracks won on Saturday. Didn't take long for the mask to slip. Ratoath Royal (Meath) - Posts: 1374 - 02/10/2020 11:00:14 2295226 Link 17 |

Nasty stuff Lutch. Unwarranted comments about your opponents in the final.

Lot of laundry being slung here lads! As a Kells and North county man I take no sides in this Trim/Ballinabrackey spat, and the allegations being thrown around are more funny than anything! I had no idea of the situation surrounding the Ballinabrackey team; tbh all I know about B'Brackey is that its a magical place that can only be accessed by going from Meath into Kildare, Offaly, Westmeath, then back into Meath again! Surely nowhere else exists like it in the country. As for Trim, yes they really should be consistently senior. Trim and it's immediate area has to be the weakest link in the county pound for pound in footballing terms. Surely a catchment area of 10,000+ They really should be aiming at senior and aiming at staying there. Looking forward to a good final and may the best team win lads. Joking apart I'm absolutely delighted for the bracks. A great traditional club who deserve their day in the sun. Shout out to the coffeys cooneys and currys Foley91 (Meath) - Posts: 418 - 03/10/2020 19:33:22 2295470 Link 0 |
What a bloody result I am ecstatic. Hard luck to trim. That was a game worthy of any county final. Who would have ever thought Ballinabrackey, my native club would be a senior club? Never did I think I'd see the day. Congratulations to all I'll raise a licozade tonight to my old club. royaldunne (Meath) - Posts: 19449 - 03/10/2020 20:03:59 2295477 Link 0 |
