shocking
Shameful
Disgusting

Calm down and be a bit more moderate in your views. You don't speak on behalf of those who did or didn't train, nor did anyone ask you to be there.

Outrage is one of those emotions (such as anger) that feed and get fat on themselves. Yet it is different from anger, which is more personal, corrosive and painful. In the grip of outrage, we shiver with disapproval and revulsion-but at the same time outrage produces a narcissistic frisson. "How morally strong I am to embrace this heated disapproval." The heat and heft add certainty to our judgment. "I feel so strongly about this, I must be right!"

Doubt if any county team was training during lockdown out of respect alone for people's families . Cant imagine any county players are training currently in county setups as are training with their clubs and getting back into it . I think as a county we need to listen to the advice given and we will have an intercounty championship to look forward to soon

Very observant of you to spot that, no I speak for myself, that's my right as is yours. It's what we have a right to do in a democracy. At least you concede that it is taking place.

Can anyone clarify if the county team training is a fact?
I heard not a whisper about it. If it's true; they were in fact training over the summer, in jest of the lockdown, even though I disagree with such a thing on a moral level, we may well have a strong chance of making the Leinster Final this year again before our curtain call. Two years in a row would be progress for us.

Read Michael Duignan's story in today's Independent. Then read between the lines as to what he's talking about.

I don't know about during lockdown but I know for a fact they are training away now 3 weeks. I have seen them out in the park in a navan whilst walking the dog and they have been in Gormonston too. So they don't seem to be too worried that the players are not insured and they seem to heading for a right row with clubs and county board it would seem.

They were training in Ashbourne a couple of weeks ago on a public GAA pitch. Think it was with South Meath players only

Had a look at Duignans article, maybe I am missing something, but dont think he was referring to one particular county. Colm O Rourke has added his voice to that of others including the CPA in calling for sanctions against any county returning to training before due date. County Board need to make sure Meath abide by the rules, if other counties want to put their players at risk thats their problem, a few weeks extra training is not going to turn us into contenders, more lightly to end up with another long injury list before championship starts.

Less about the county team more about the club... My pick is Ratoath for the double, Castletown for Intermediate and St Vincents for the Junior.

Curraha, Seneschalstown Nobber and St Colmcilles to battle it out for Relegation with Nobber dropping straight back down

Curraha had the top scorer in the county last year, great young team with bundles of experience, they will be OK.
Seneschalstown have experience and youth. Some fantastic players and seem to be over the transition after escaping with their senior status last year. They will be OK, could go well.
Nobber could cause an unlikely upset but I agree, most likely to return to inter grade especially with Farrell stepping away.
St Colmcilles could do anything, they are so unpredictable especially with the county lads available for the duration, again I fell tgey will be Ok, maybe even better than Ok.
Ratoath won't retain their crown, too many cooks and issues. They won't be a million miles off but not for me. Summerhill are the team to beat this year.

Can't see past Ratoath after last year, if they push on at all there's potential for a run in Leinster I think

Senior Ratoath, Tones, Plus winner of Kells and Dunboyne.
Castletown to struggle, Hard to call intermediate, a number of teams could win it. Nobber to be beaten out the door and go down to Moynalvey

It's Kells best chance ever to get to the County Final. If they don't this year they can throw their Tin hat at it. I think Ratoath are fine champions but it's difficult to retain and I do think the other finalist could come from the Ratoath V Simonstown game. Simonstown almost made the final last year only to get pipped at the death. Fancy them to make amends . Kells V Simonstown final for me

Was just making my selections on this Forecast https://gaapredictions.com/ for the club Championship and going by the points Moynalvey seem no hopes against Summerhill. Maybe I'm wrong but I'd give them a good chance to upset the Hill particularly in Round 1!

Has anyone got any concrete proof that God forbid the county footballers are training or are people happy to believe rumour and lies? If anyone was breaking any rules it was in fact club teams that were back training in groups much bigger than fifteen in public parks and GAA pitches two weeks before the GAA were granting them permission to train. Why was there not the same commotion over that like there is now for some county teams 'supposedly' back training? If anything, if the lads are in fact training, they are doing most clubs a favour by giving the players the best possible care (injury prevention work, conditioning) something that some clubs would not know the first thing about. You would sware from the way this narrative is been spun by Michael Duignan and Off the Ball that county players wont be playing championship matches with their clubs. There are to many cowboys coaching clubs in Meath and trust me, they don't have the welfare of the players in mind, they have one thing in mind and that is win at all costs and in fact place nearly all the pressure on one or two individuals coming back from a county team to most if not all the spade work. The same people giving out now that the Meath team are back training are the same people that will be first in line to cut the legs off the management and players for not beating Dublin or whoever and top of there list of complaints will be fitness and being off the mark etc. There is an imbalance between county and club but that is in no way the county managers or players fault. That is the GAA headquarters fault for having a Club and County season that both stretch for ten to twelve months where players are trying to keep two masters happy. The only thing that will solve this is when there is a fair and equal program of games drawn up from scratch for both club and county with little to no overlap and players can concentrate on one team at a time.

Summerhill nice draw and a handy semi final will take a bit of beating though if it was in normal times and there was two to go into a 1/4 final you'd fancy Kells to make the breakthrough with all their experience but cant see them beating Dunboyne to take top spot. For me its between Dunboyne or Ratoath. Both very impressive with a great blend of players in their prime and younger lads coming through.
Dunboyne with the edge and a bit to prove after injuries scuppered them last year.
