Where we really struggled in the last Challenge match was up front winning our own ball, having Matt Costello, Jack O Connor, Shane Walsh & Jordan Morris to all come in to the Forwards will make a massive impact!

Last challenge was poor overall. 8 of the players had played colleges in the previous 24hours and Monaghan were at full strength except for Aaron Mulligan.

I would agree with most but Id have Costello at 8, Walsh at 11, Lynch at 14 and Mitchell at 15

Is this the team or just the team you would pick?? Haven't seen it up on any of the official Meath platforms

Any further word on the team?
I am hearing that all the lads with the Senior Squad are being released so I think the team you suggested below will be close to the mark! Luke Mitchell I am sure will be close to getting in - but not sure if he will displace any of the front 3 below. Given the free taking issues the Senior team have had - this team has a lot of lads who can take frees. Lynch is good off the ground - saw him fro Trim in the Intermediate a few times last year! Walsh is obviously good out of the hand. Jack O'Connor was the highest scorer in the Senior Championship last year with plenty of what he got coming from frees! Morris is also a good free taker from the right side of the posts, scored plenty for Nobber in the intermediate and Rogers was a good man for Ratoath from the other side in the 21s recently . Liam Byrne is a strong striker of 45s as is McGowan!

Like mitchell being a minor all star shows how serious the competition is in this squad. With the quality on the bench this squad has potential as we all know to do very well. Also think there is better free takers on this team then the seniors.

A brilliant win in horrendous conditions. Struggled to get to grips early. The day meant you couldn't play brilliant football but we battled and worked really hard. Shane Walsh different level, 1-3 from play all in the 2nd half. I really hope he plays next Saturday against the Dubs. Beating the Dubs would be massive, we haven't done it at 21's/20's that I remember

Walsh had great game. Still think he's better at 11though. James O Hare was super all through but particularly in the first half. Mitchell showed his class coming on after 15 in second half and scoring two excellent points. Surprised he wasn't a direct replacement for Lynch. Farrelly scored a brilliant point after being introduced and closed it out. Conditions were brutal and mistakes were very excusable. Hickey was very good after an early error. Costello was everywhere and broke well and very composed to lay off to Walsh for the goal Now for the Dubs in their own place. Couldn't be better

Confirmed now 2pm Parnell Park on Saturday. Meath people should be looking to show up to this in numbers. Some of my favourite memories supporting Meath we're beating Dublin in minor in 2016 and 18 and beating them at under 17 twice in 2017. None of them were in Parnell Park and they did get revenge for the 2016 minor game in the 2018 under 20's. Let's hope this doesn't happen again. We need to translate our under 17 success into under 20's. It would bode so well for the future
