Summerhill clinched their second Meath senior football championship title in three years with a 0-16 to 0-13 win over Ratoath at Pairc Tailteann. Dave Clare’s men led 0-10 to 0-4 at the break and withstood a late, late Ratoath fightback to claim their 9th Keegan Cup title.
Last year’s winners Dunshaughlin fell to the winners after extra time in the semifinal while Ratoath had little difficulty in seeing off the Skryne challenge in a last four battle at Pairc Tailteann.
Ballinabrackey, Wolfe Tones, Donaghmore Ashbourne and Trim reached the last eight. Extra time was needed to sort the Tones and Dunshaughlin and Ratoath versus Donaghmore Ashbourne at the quarter final stage.
Unlucky Meath Hill, 2024 IFC winners, were relegated after they lost out to St. Colmcilles in the final at Dunganny. Simonstown and Gaeil Colmcille survived at the relegation semifinal stage.
