Rory Brennan will miss Tyrone's Ulster SFC quarter-final against Donegal this afternoon after the DRA (Disputes Resolution Authority) turned down his appeal against a 12-week ban.
The defender received a red card during the second half of Tyrone’s Allianz League defeat to Donegal in Ballybofey a fortnight ago after he appeared to touch the arm of referee Jerome Henry after a free had been awarded against him. He was subsequently issued with a 12-week suspension which the Red Hands failed to have lifted.
A statement from the DRA read: "A DRA Tribunal comprised of Mr Michael Murray BL, Mr Cian Kelly BL and Mr Paraic Duffy this afternoon (Saturday) heard an application on behalf of Mr Rory Brennan, challenging the decision of the Central Hearings Committee to impose a 12-week suspension across all codes and at all levels for the offence of Minor Physical Interference with a Referee arising out of an incident which occurred during the Allianz National League Football match between Donegal and Tyrone on the 18th October 2020. The Claimant also challenged the decision of the Central Appeals Committee to uphold the CHC decision.
"Having considered submissions from all parties, the Tribunal dismissed the application."
