There will be a strong Crossmaglen involvement in the Sligo senior football management next season after manager Tony McEntee added his clubmate Aaron Kernan to his backroom team.

Kernan has been drafted in as a defence coach. It will be his first inter-county coaching role since bringing the curtain down on his 23-year playing career last year, during which he won a whopping 18 Armagh SFC medals, eight Ulster Club SFC titles and three All-Ireland Club SFC titles, some of them won under McEntee's guidance.

Part of a famous GAA family, the classy half back also won four Ulster SFC titles with Armagh as well as an All-Ireland U21FC medal in 2004, while he was named Young Footballer Of The Year in 2005.

McEntee has also brought in former Sligo player Colm McGee as goalkeeping coach. McGee is currently coaching his home club Tubbercurry.
