Tyrone’s decision not to field a team for next Saturday’s All-Ireland SFC semi-final against Kerry sent shockwaves throughout the GAA this afternoon.
The huge news broke after the Tyrone county board released a statement earlier today to confirm that it would not be fulfilling the fixture at Croke Park after “having received expert medical opinion on the existing, and future health and welfare of the players who contracted the Covid-19 virus during the period of this last two weeks”.
Needless to say, the news has since set Twitter ablaze…
I don’t even know what to think. Is this to force the GAA’s hand or are @TyroneGAALive so ravaged they can’t be competitive. Should @monaghangaa come in to represent ulster as it’s a disaster for @Kerry_Official not to get a semi final. What’s next 🙈 pic.twitter.com/vEcUYdhIS8

My own opinion is it should be put further back, but where do you stop?No matter what happens there’ll be some team not happy. https://t.co/Hqvsj572mz

I'm sure Kerry would not like a bye to an All Ireland Final, give Tyrone the time #GAA pic.twitter.com/0rOPaPYK0e
