Eugene 'Gene' Burns of 9 Pinewood Grove, Bay Estate passed away on April 3, 2009 - his 68th birthday. Originally from Monaghan, he moved to Dundalk in 1957. He loved the GAA, especially Na Piarsaigh, for whom his sons played. Members of the club provided a Guard of Honour as Eugene was escorted on his final journey.
