Annaghminnon Rovers GAA club was greatly saddened by the passing on January 10th, 2013 of club founder Vincent Kerr, who was 92. Vincent was one of the original members of the local club, which was formed in his sitting room. Before a proper ground had been acquired, he provided the team with a field to train in and was later inducted into the Annaghminnon Rovers Hall of Fame. At the funeral ceremony, an Annaghminnon flag was draped across Vincent's coffin and club members formed a guard of honour.
