The late Brendan Kerley, who passed away on December 30th, 2015, aged 86, lived all his life in Mansfieldstown, Castlebellingham. A true GAA stalwart, he had strong affiliations to both St Josephs and Stabannon Parnells. Brendan was a founder member and player with the Joes and served as their first-ever treasurer. With his son Gerard in their ranks, he would later follow the fortunes of Stabannon as closely. The high regard in which the deceased was held by both clubs was demonstrated as they formed a joint Guard of Honour at his funeral.
