Jimmy Drumgoole late of Nicholastown, Ardee and Riverdale, Ballybay passed away on February 9th, 2017. A much-loved local character in the Reaghstown area, he was a keen supporter of Westerns all his life. Jimmy served the local GAA club as a player, committee member, umpire, groundsman and chairman. He was one of the main driving forces involved in recruiting new blood into the small rural club, training and managing underage players and bringing them to matches in his van. Jimmy also directed and starred in many plays and variety shows as part of Aclint Drama Society and participated in Christmas Day swims, parachute jumps and even ran the Dublin City Marathon for charity. A Westerns man through and through, he served as chairman during the club's 60th anniversary celebrations and always did his utmost to promote both juvenile and adult football in the area during the course of his life.
