St Marys GFC provided a Guard of Honour at the funeral of John McCoy, Bohernamoe and 42 The Village, Moorehall Lodge, Ardee, who passed away on April 26th, 2016, aged 85. Gaelic football was one of John's big passions in life and he was an ardent St Marys clubman, serving the Ardee unit with distinction over the years. He was a former club chairman and was also honorary vice president at the time of his death.
