Jim Cousins passed away unexpectedly on November 14th, 2013, aged 76. In 1991, he had the distinction of becoming the first Progressive Democrat elected to a public body in Louth. A very capable politician, Jim had togged out for Young Irelands GFC in his youth and maintained a keen interest in sport all his life, supporting local GAA and soccer teams.
