From Emer Terrace, Dundalk, the late Frank Grimes had a keen interest in many sports. Born in 1925, he excelled in sport as a young man, including gaelic football and soccer. He starred on the Clan na Gael team that won the Macardle Cup in 1948 and also garnered many junior soccer medals.
