Former County Board PRO Peter Corrigan of 12 Papal Drive, Collon passed away on Friday, June 30th, 2017. Peter was an extremely well-known and much-loved character in the local area, not least due to his dedication to Mattock Rangers and Louth GAA down through the years. He was renowned for his voluntary work in promoting gaelic football and the local community, which prompted Broomfield and District Residents Association to express its sincerest sympathy to the Corrigan family upon the sad occasion of Peter's death.

A great family man first and foremost, he was married to Kitty for close to 55 years and had two children and six grandchildren, Peter's selfless contributions to Mattock saw him honoured with both the club's Clubman of the Year (in Centenary Year) and Hall of Fame (in 2014) awards. Peter's son, Gerard, is a well-known referee in Louth.

A huge number of people from all across County Louth and beyond turned out to pay their final respects to this truly outstanding GAA man, who served Louth County Board as PRO from 1992 until 1999. He was a member of the Mattock Rangers committee from the late 1970s onwards, serving as both PRO and vice-chairman. Peter's contributions to both club and county GAA were immeasurable and he will be greatly missed.
