Francis Richard 'Dick' Delany, Tuites Lane, Blackrock passed away on Friday, May 12th, 2017, causing widespread shock and sadness across the communities of Blackrock and Haggardstown. Proprietor of The Neptune Pub in Blackrock for 26 years until his retirement in 2016, he played gaelic football for Dundalk Gaels in his youth, winning a JFC, and was also a talented soccer and rugby player. After moving to Blackrock, Dick threw his energy behind Geraldines and he was one of their top lotto sellers. He was a big Louth GAA supporter and also had a keen interest in hurling, attending many Munster finals.
