Five-time All-Ireland SHC winner Seamus Flanagan has called on Limerick’s supporters to turn out in force for the county’s All-Ireland minor hurling championship final against Tipperary this weekend.

Diarmuid Mullins’s side welcome Tipp to the TUS Gaelic Grounds on Saturday (3pm) where they will be bidding for the Treaty County’s first Irish Press Cup success since 1984.

Speaking to media this week, Flanagan said the fact that the decider is a standalone fixture adds even more to the occasion.

"I'm delighted that it's moved to a standalone fixture because number one, it's a better atmosphere for everyone that's involved on the outside,” the Feohanagh-Castlemahon clubman is quoted saying by live95fm.ie.

“For the players that are there, it gives them that sense of it's our day. It should be promoted and projected as their own day."

He added: "You just you'd hope and pray that the Limerick supporters will come out because in those in those games, when you're playing at minor grade, that means a lot to have your family and friends there, number one, but just general support."
