Anthony Daly has welcomed the decision to fix the Munster SHC final for the TUS Gaelic Grounds.

Despite being Limerick's home ground, the Ennis Road venue is much more accessible for Clare supporters than FBD Semple Stadium or Páirc Uí Chaoimh - the two other grounds that were in the running to host Sunday week's eagerly-awaited showdown.

"Logistically, it's a good venue for everyone," the two-time Clare All-Ireland winning captain said in an interview with RTÉ.

"It's 10 minutes from the likes of John Conlon, Diarmuid Ryan, the Shannon lads, the 'Bridge lads. It's a great venue, right on the doorstep - easier to get to for those lads than Cusack Park.

"Clare played them [Limerick] there five weeks ago. What's the big deal? We all saw last Sunday [Limerick v Cork], it's a fantastic stadium. Fifty-fifty on the tickets, bring it on. Let them at it. They produced an incredible Munster final last year."

Daly reckons Clare will be relieved at not having to travel to Páirc Uí Chaoimh.

"It would have been a big worry for Brian Lohan and the team as well because the match is on at 1.45pm, you'd have to get to Cork, what time do you leave?" he continued.

"It would have been a bit of a nightmare. For everybody this is easier."
