Do The Rest Of The Country Have A Point ? Where Do You Stand? - 3 Like(s)

Replying To realdub:  "I'm not going to go into detail as it's all been said on here to death. Advantages we have, I've no problem playing all games bar All-Ireland semis and finals, anywhere they put us. I don't buy into the population thing too much, even now, more than ever, the vast majority of Dubliners couldn't give a monkey's **** about the Dubs or the GAA. We've always had the bigger population, its a capital city, hence the City boys V the Culchies. And that surely adds to the Championship. Funding should be shared equally and proportionally. Are our advantages the reason we have been champions year in year out? Definitely not, we have great managers, great players with great attitudes and pure self-belief. Splitting Dublin? our game is based on county borders and the tribalism that translates into rivalry. A split Dublin would hold no interest for me, and plenty others I would imagine. It would seriously impact the interest from the county that brings in the most money regarding fan base and Jersey sales. It will take a couple of generations to buy into a partitioned Dublin. But for now, no thanks. Kerry and Mayo have come very close to beating this team over the last decade, and if one of those games had have gone the oppositions way, I don't think we'd be having this conversation, well certainly not to this extent. This year is odd, if we win it, great, if we don't I think it will be easily forgotten when this lockdown hell is put to bed."
Totally agree with this. Think f the 2016 final - for most of the first half Dublin players didn't score. It was 2 flukey own goals that kept Dublin ahead. If it weren't for outrageous bad luck, Mayo would have won that All_Ireland. No interest whatsoever in partitioning Dublin. It is utterly impracticable too.

Replying To realdub:  "I like the colour, jersey not too bad, my fav is still the 2011 version."
Nice colour alright But don't like the design.. bland looking I like a bit of navy and don't get the 3 horizontal stripes on the arms and the white band running through the colar I don't like . Just looks too bland for my liking Last year's one I was fond of and happy to stick with that, Looks the part when you have it on. The shorts were dodgy though For me you need a bit more navy and 3 vertical stripes down the arm

Replying To Fionn:  "Cheers Jimbo - looks fab. Note it is a player fit - and they advise to order a size larger than your normal size, if anyone is not of Player Fit size... Yep, I cant see O'Neill's missing out on an opportunity to release one also... More for the collection eh.... ;o)"

Not a fan of the new Jersey For me it's the worst one since 2013 I'll be holding onto the 5 in a row jersey for a while
