Six-time winners Beara have withdrawn from the Cork Premier SFC for the second year-in-a-row.
The divisional side's inability to field a senior team is a major cause for concern in West Cork where football is a religion to many. According to local reports, Beara informed the county board of their withdrawal on Wednesday, just a week before they were due to play fellow divisonal outfit Muskerry in the first round of the divisions / colleges unseeded championship.
Beara last lifted the Andy Scannell Cup in 1997 when they overcame Castlehaven after a replay.
