The Tyrone SFC commences on Thursday, September 21 when holders Errigal Ciaran put the O’Neill Cup on the line against Killyclogher.
The eagerly-awaited clash throws in at 7.30pm under the new O’Neills Healy Park floodlights and marks the start of one of the last remaining straight knockout championships in the GAA, which adds greatly to its competitiveness. Errigal Ciaran defeated Carrickmore in last year’s decider, but will have their work cut out against a Killyclogher side who have qualified for the Division 1 League semi-finals.
Healy Park will also host the meeting of Trillick and Loughmacrory on Friday, September 22 with the other six Round 1 fixtures taking place on the same weekend at different venues across the county.
All first round games must produce a winner on the day with replays applying from the quarter-final onwards. The county final is fixed for Sunday, October 29.
