Andy McDonnell has joined a select band of footballers to make 100 senior appearances for Louth.
The veteran Newtown Blues forward, who came out of retirement earlier this year, reached the milestone in the Wee County’s 2-16 to 0-17 Leinster SFC quarter-final victory over Laois last Sunday. In what was his first championship appearance since 2019, McDonnell scored a point to bring his overall tally to 3-78.
“Congratulations to Andy McDonnell on making his 100th appearance for Louth today! A fantastic achievement and a testament to your dedication and leadership. Everyone at Newtown Blues is proud — well done, Andy!” his club posted online.
