The difference attitude makes - 4 Like(s)

Replying To Awwwwnow:  "What kind of a club corner forward would you prefer ? 1.. the guy who won't train much but still manage to score 1-4 in a club game . 2.. or the headless chicken type who will run all day and train all night but could kick a point to save his life!?"
wow, there was me thinking that sport was made up of a multitude of different personality types when all along there are only two extremes. for me its the headless chicken every time. As he gets older and relaxs he will become much better at making good decisions. As mr superstar gets older he will become much better at blaming young lads for not giving him the right ball

Fair play TG4 - 2 Like(s)

Replying To royaldunne:  "Maybe you don't know but I played football pre Boylan time in Meath so I am well aware of the coverage. And I rather none than have to listen to tg4"
if you would rather none than tg4 then the solution is in your own hands. On my remote there is a second red button, have a look on yours for it and use that to solve your problems. In the meantime I will continue to enjoy TG4s sports coverage. Outside of the sport on tv the irish commentary is a further help to support my decision to send my children to gaeilscoil. When they started I had very little Irish, now I can have a conversation (comfortably if not eloquently.) in Irish without a single lesson. Having the game on TV in Irish and having them see sports stars they look up to speaking the language is excellent.

Allow 17-year-olds play Adult - 1 Like(s)
Bottom line is that the narrowing of age bands is going to reward clubs who actively look after their players from a young age regardless of their ability Those clubs who continue to focus on the best players selecting 14 year olds ahead of 16 year olds on under 16 teams etc to try to win matchs and so on will be the ones who fail while clubs who encourage , coach and play those kids who start slow and need good coaching will thrive through participation rates being increased as kids stay on longer. there is nothing wrong with the rule. the rule I object to is the removal of the minor grade and its replacement with an under 17 grade which seems to have gone over everyones head. far too big a gap between under 17 and under 21 for those lads to be getting games in a lot of clubs will put players in a limbo of 12 months without games
