Laois have won those but using them as a stick to beat other counties is pointless. It's like us lording it over Wicklow who haven't won a title before. 2003 being the only title in living memory compared to 1949 for laois or 1944 for us.

Our County not in such a good a shape as some people think" Watching that today shows why Carlow football is leagues behind others. The physicality from Port was head and shoulders above OL today. Whether it was naivity or lack of nouse from OL today, even when pushing with the extra man they didn't look like they could do anything.
Chatted to an umpire a few weeks ago at a game and commented on how the standard across the county really showed. Quite poor overall. Honestly there's only three teams in the county that can win outside of Carlow and that's Eire Og in football and then MLR and St. Mullins in hurling. Rathvilly couldn't give a toss after getting out of Carlow, 2021 being the shining example of that. Pal beat a poor Wicklow side and then utterly stuffed by Port as well.
Lot of self reflecting needs to be done within the county again as per.

In Rathvilly or Hacketstown It would be football, but in Borris or Garyhill it would be hurling. In Bagenalstown it could be 50-50 and in Tullow they probably talk about neither. In Carlow town, they are more likely to talk about foreign-sourced pursuits such as soccer and rugby. At least in my experience.

Go figure." Laois's last hurling came in 1949 and football was 2003. It was the 40s before that. Only 2003 can be talked about really, claiming relevance of anything that old is a bit strange. Even stranger to see a cork and kilkenny person here coming to gloat about a laois win. Very very strange.

Replying To jigger: "Football kicks off this week and should be interesting with the new format. Will it be a disadvantage to the dual player and dual clubs, time will tell.
Rathvilly look best suited to win the Senior with the usual suspects of Palatine, EO and Old Leighlin next best. Relagtion looks likely to be between Fenagh and Grange.
Tinryland will be fancied by many to come straight up but the likes of Ballon, St Pats and Clonmore all have a decent chance. Relegation is likely to feature Ballinabranna and EO.
Junior is open but Leighlinbridge, Myshall and possibly the Blues should be among the favourites. Relegation is wide open and hard to call." No real surprises in senior at the weekend. From what I saw EO looked like nothing special, Pal did a serious job on MLR with chris's 2 pointers keeping it respectful. Can't judge from the other two matches.
Inter looking like a mixed bag and interesting. Kildavin and EO was a poor standard and somehow kildavin lost. Tinryland lost and coming out with a few injuries, uphill battle there. Ballinabranna stuffed and looks like it's going one way.
Good win for myshall in junior. Leighlinbridge not setting the world alight barely beating pal. Big win for the blues in Kilbride. It's a pity St. Mullins just didn't bother with a team.
