Niall McCabe ( Knockbride ) is out with a hand injury... He was very good in the league and could be back for the semi-final...!

Great game on Sunday evening in the park. 2nd half was an incredible display of attacking football. Some excellent scores . Need to tighten up at the back . Well done to all involved. Breffinifan (Cavan) - Posts: 91 - 31/05/2017 06:48:00 1992483 Link 0 |

Extremely entertaining game Sunday eve & some very talented players on display for both teams. Pierson, madden, Patterson, Lynch & the goalie o'rourke stood out for me. Thought number 8 for Monaghan was exceptionally good. As previous poster stated we were very open at the back & could have conceded roughly 4 more goals but great to see both teams playing attacking football with not a sweeper in sight bond (Longford) - Posts: 174 - 31/05/2017 09:40:54 1992513 Link 0 |
It was without a doubt a fantastic spectacle with some serious talent on both sides. The game was played at breathtaking intensity. The Cavan lads that stood out upfront were Oisin Pierson,Cian Madden and Patrick Lynch who is also on u17s, big Patterson caught a few great balls in the half forward position and Monaghan had to put a spolier on him,I thought James Smith Crosserlough had a golden spell for a while too and his power got him in for 2 goals, our centre half Timoney has a bit of power too but overall for next day we can't allow ball carriers to come through the centre so easily ,only for O'Rourke we could have easily lost the game too.Monaghan had some outstanding players ,in particular Connolly no 8,Mcallister no 11,Burns no 14, half back no 5,they will get 3 or 4 good seniors out of that bunch too. celt2018 (Cavan) - Posts: 160 - 31/05/2017 09:54:01 1992520 Link 0 |

Be great to have him back as he is a talented lad. The Quiet Man (Cavan) - Posts: 4601 - 25/06/2017 10:15:13 2004648 Link 0 |
Seanorinn .... Niall McCabe is only back in the panel in the last 10 days or so after recovering from a hand injury and was named among the subs last night.... He plays full-forward and was very good during the league... John Brady may have been talking about some other injured player because Niall is not a defender... Well done to all involved yesterday and it's great to have an Ulster Final to look forward to.. Sean.66 (Cavan) - Posts: 293 - 25/06/2017 10:39:03 2004659 Link 0 |

was in armagh last night and yet another powerful performance by our minors i thought we were dead & buried when we lost young patterson to a needless black card and then conceded 2 goals but whatever was said at half time & a truly magnificent midfield performance by james smith ( who had the crowd gasping with his catching) we clawed our way back & won brilliantly for the 4 mins of injury time at the end our lads never lost possession outstanding stuff lads lets hope we can continue this for the final ! incidentally i thought the down seniors showed what a little bit of bravery up front can do against a team like monaghan spiritof97 (Cavan) - Posts: 36 - 25/06/2017 12:57:46 2004716 Link 2 |

The best of luck to them in Ulster when they represent Cavan in the last Minor match in Ulster. Wouldn't it be fantastic if they get the last name on the trophy and bring it back to display to the true Cavan supporters. John Brady has proven he has what it takes to be a good manager and the County Board should hold onto him as long as they can before another county tries to poach him. With the Minors John was able to use some of the U17 players as well so he had the best available to him and it showed last weekend. I would say he has shut up most of the bedgrudgers and long may he continue to do so. He has at least two more matches and who knows maybe an All Ireland as well. Now would that be brilliant or not.
