The highlight of Terry's tenure... What memories! Beating Derry..Those were the days!

Better days than losing to Antrim or Fermanagh in the 1st round, or bouncing between div 2 and 3 and flirting with div 4.
Dean/awwwwnow/Sean.66, what's with the spiteful comments, why are you so bitter?
Terry has been fantastic for Cavan gaa, on and off the field. He has laid solid foundations for a good snr team for years to come. He has gained a measure of respect for Cavan football which has been missing for a long time.
My fear would be that somebody will take over now who is not up to the task and ruin all Terry's good work.
The county board have to be very very careful when choosing Terry's successor.

Maybe someone would take over and get us to at least an Ulster Final appearance. Now wouldn't that be something! Regardless who takes over Terry will be getting the credit for future success in the eyes of the Pro Hyland brigade .. Yes I can acknowledge the good work Terry did. BUT he wasn't able to take us that step further. A step that these players are well capable of making under an experienced tactician . And yes he did the right thing in not looking for another term.

is the CB going to wait till all the club football is over this year before appointing a new manager meaning they won't get to watch any club games to scout new players..or run the rule over this years county players

Massive money gone onto a 16-1 shot, dont think he is right man to replace Terry, we should be going for somebody from outside the county with a fresh perspective and not somebody who could be divisive.

If the rumours are true its a disgrace. No ambition from the county board and the freefall that will soon follow would be down to them. Disgrace.

Don't know who you are talking about either but it's the bookies that have alleged to have done this . Co Board have not done anything wrong here. They are putting a committee together to get the right man .So whatever you have heard is heresay.

If it's the person that was mentioned to me today well my working day's in Breifni will end thats for sure and I will cancel my Club Breifni membership as well.
I am sure many will follow this route as also.
If it's true I cannot see the clubs of Cavan sanctioning this for if they do well they will be like peas in a pod.
I have a feeling it's all idle chat. Well I hope so anyway.
Shocked

Pearse Mckenna and Finbarr OReilly as selectors in the proposal I heard. could this be really be the top option?

No fault to Dermot but he hasn't the experience to be an inter county manager
For me McHughs the man but I doubt he would be interested in playing against his sons or nephew.
James Mc Cartan fits the bill. Brought Down to an all Ireland final. Would command great respect. He'd soon get the forwards playing as forwards.
He would be a great choice

Personally I hope not. His brother would be better choice.

But it would not surprise me.

Surely its all gossip and theres enough cop on within the county board so this wont happen. At the end of the day were very very close and I think are time is now. The county board need to step up and give this team the best around because we are very close. Tipperary are one game away from An Ireland Final so anything is possible. Hopefully this is just rubbish talk because I will tell you now if the rumors are true it will destroy Cavan GAA players and fans will lose hope. It would be a disgrace but I do not think the clubs would allow it.

Dean, You keep harping on about McHugh, he has a media/pundit job. To give up that and also get the usual county manager 'expenses' we're talking big bucks. Cavan Co. Board are looking to spend closer to 0k a year.
I'm telling yaz lads, you'll be begging Terry to come back in the end
