Imagine training all your life for the biggest day of your gaa career and then try and perform in gael force wind and rain for no good reason. I hope they can explain the rationale behind their decision player or supporter welfare were obviously high up in their priorities. Fair play to them. They deserve our support."

There will likely be another storm next weekend if the last few years are anything to go by.
If we were to start postponing games in winter football for strong wind we would never get a championship played.
Teams need to try adapt better when they have it , Ramor were just abysmal.

Plenty other finals went ahead today..bit of wind doesn't excuse a teams inability score from play in 60mins of football. What about having to play in the high 20s during the summer..that's worse for player welfare.

Shocking stuff. Why did Ramor abandon the direct running game that worked so well for them from quarter finals, they went back to old habits. All standing around the 45 waiting for a chance to have a pot shot.

Mannion should have started considering the conditions. Terrible decision to take off Bradley who could have been worth a couple of points.

Crosserlough not much better. Were starting to get jittery before storm Ashley scored the goal.

Both teams trying to ping kickpasses rather than cushioning it into space with the wind. But at least it's all out of the way now. Those with their foreign holidays booked for the midterm can relax

I could understand the urgency if ulster was starting next week with country wide weather warnings and high winds and rain give me one plausible reason for playing the game today the attendance was at least halved no football was played as it was impossible to play any so spectacle was ruined who were the winners here only reason i can think of that it went ahead this weekend is that one of the big wigs must have had a holiday booked for next weekend.

The game was shown to be able to be played, so correct decision. We can't cancel every game until we have a 20 degrees blue skies day with no wind. It's Ireland, we get wind, get on with it. Other finals went ahead

Remember, Crosserlough played and won a final in 2020 for first time in near 50 years with a reduced crowd and inability for people to travel. People travelled for this. Call it off last minute and tough luck to those home from overseas? Also think there's a local wedding next week booked for after the final was set in the calendar. It's not easy to call it off with all that, and it was able to be played

Yes, the spectacle suffered, but we are not always due a spectacle as much as we'd like that. Up to each to adjust to the conditions and Crosserlough did that. Fair play to them. Well done and enjoy the win

I think it was a mistake to go ahead with the matches yesterday . Nobody would have complained if it was called off. Senior final day is supposed to be the showcase for the best club football in the county and with two footballing teams in the final it promised a lot . Well done to Crosserlough who adapted well to the conditions and were more up for it. I hope they go well in Ulster.

Game should have been postponed, unsafe for travelling supporters, teams and officials. Fermanagh, Tyrone and Longford county boards showed backbone and postponed their finals in the interest of safety of all. Fair play to Crosserlough, won it fair and square on the day when conditions were the same for both sides. There is a valid reason behind Ramors poor performace but thats for another day.

I think you'll find lots would have complained. Pushing back a week would affect many with prior plans

To be fair to the county board, Cavan was under a yellow warning yesterday. If that position had escalated to orange the match would likely been called off. I would say that was the decision making criteria used over the weekend.
Games were going ahead in Roscommon, Meath louth to name a few. The pitch could be water logged next week, temperatures could drop another storm etc. Its the Irish winter we are dealing with , we need to proceed with games if it's any way possible. Teams need to be better prepared for dealing with these things especially if you are serious about progressing deeper into the winter. I remember Arva played the all Ireland quarter final v Wandsworth in similar conditions last December.

On the game itself, I have seen Ramor enough over the last few years even in perfect conditions to know they are quite an average outfit. They produce good hardworking lads but they just lack that bit of style and flair up front .
Still hard to know how good Crosserlough are, they seem to have a bit more steel and substance under this new management. The Kilcoo game will tell us a lot more

Probably the week after. However a draw would be palatable as long as it went ahead I suppose, if people then missed the replay

Crosserlough beat the Gaels in the semi final two weeks ago under lights in conditions similar to yesterdays yet no one batted an eyelid.

Embarrassing enough display from Knockbride today in the Ulster Junior.

Seem to struggle in big games.

Thought winning junior this year would have been a weight off their shoulders.

I wasn't surprised by their poor show.
They were less than impressive in an extremely poor junior championship struggling against Redhills, Drung and Munchies. Anytime they faced half decent opposition at junior in the last few years like Arva, Denn etc they were well short.

Let's hope Arva and Crosserlough will put on a better show for Cavan football.

Probably the worst Junior Champions in a good few years despite promising so much.

They've been Junior for 15 years and have they had a result of note in that time?; beat Belturbet twice this year fair enough but they would be considered way ahead of them.

I'd have more faith in Arva; great character about that team. Should beat the Down champions but not sure after that.

I thought they panicked second half. There was no need to be pushed up so far and diving into tackles, especially when they got it back to 6-4. They had loads of time
