I'll not bite on your Cavan Gaels gibberish post, but yes Killygarry didn't win Senior and maybe they never will. But the development up there, investment in the future and building a solid community is very impressive. You've taken many swipes at that and i can't see any other reason why. I mean none of us are bothered about what goes on in Ramor

Development at underage is what it's all about. And it doesn't happen overnight. It's a long process and a Senior relegation should not hinder the process.
The Gaels underage success of the 90s paved the way for their senior success in the 00's.
So I wouldn't knock any club that's in the process of developing underage. Because it will pay off.

Development? Killygarry have been developing for the last 15/20 years with nothing to show for it bar an odd underage title, won nothing at senior so it shows your development isnt working, so you need to ask yourself why its not working?
Ask yourself what the Gaels, Crosserlough, Gowna are doing differently and the answer will soon come.

Your are correct in that, although, you have to ask, who is coaching and developing these players? Killygarry have been developing players for the last 15/20 years yet what have they to show for it? one senior county final appearance, and then relegation this year in the league. They had three senior mens teams 2/3 years back and are now struggling to field one reserve team, so where's all so called players they are supposedly developing?
Look at Gowna/Crosserlough/Gaels, most of their underage teams have ex and current players involved in coaching, Crosserlough last Saturday night had 5 of their 2019 Division 2 u15 team starting on their senior team.

Gowna were within a whisker of relegation playoff last summer only Mullahorn saved them. The rest is history but it shows the fine margins. All the coaching is being done by ex successful players. You probably didn't hear that in your pub conversations. Sure I'll tell them all to quit what's the point if ya can't win a senior championship.

How many relegation playoffs were Killygarry involved in the last few years? Fine margins indeed, but Gowna went on a won the Co Final convincingly so what does that say about Killygarry if Gowna were in a whisker of relegation, yet Killygarry couldn't beat them in a final.

You say the coaching is being done by ex-successful players - which successful players are coaching your underage teams at the moment?

Are you actually asking me to post names of underage coaches for you to pick apart, while you hide behind your 10th username. Have a word with your self lad.
What on earth is going on up in Ramor that they got clipped in a senior semi by a dreadful cannon fodder Killygarry team. How embarrassing. Who's coaching Ramor underage for that to happen? Heads should roll

I dont think you'd be able to Jamsie because there isn't any ex-successful players is there?

Seriously, your comparing Ramor to Killygarry!! Ramor won a senior championship in 2016, they also won a senior championship in 2021, the also won a minor championship in 2022 so its safe to say Ramor are in good shape. I stand corrected, but didnt your u15 teams reach championship finals in 2021 and 2022, yet your minor team this year, made up of those two u15 teams lost a Shield Final to Butlersbridge, that to me sounds like a club going backwards.

Lads when was the last time Kililgarry were Div 2? Bit harsh on them regarding the relegation. that happens after a bumper year. Bringing in RTE last year wasnt really the best of moves before a final and with a very young team. But id see them being no push over in the championship this year. Happens with manys the club where the get a second wind in a season and terry hyland is no daw. lots of experience to offer them.

Massive result for Arva yesterday evening.

2 Division 1 sides and 12 division 3 sides in Junior Championship this year; must be one of the most lobsided championships in the country.

They are going to have to do a reset on that and have Division 1 Senior. Div 2 intermediate and Division 3 Junior there are 12 teams with no hope off winning the Junior.

What's happening in Knockbride. Success at underage for a small club now feeding through to seniors. Obviously a lot of work going in.

Can other clubs learn from this?

Knockbride were always a well run club, good footballing people involved and always with the club at heart and some of the best facilities in the County, the new pitches and development are a joy to see.
Can other clubs learn from this? of course they can, but unfortunately, there are some clubs who dont want to learn from it, they are more interested in having the great facilities on show and making money than producing on the pitch. Above in Killygarry, the pitch is closed more than its open and underage teams are having to use school pitches to train cause there not allowed to use their own pitch, lads cant even go up for a kick about or practice cause they have goals sealed off.
Another club that is really making progress on the pitch is Mullahoran, they brought in an outside development coach to restructure their underage development and with the involvement of ex and current players, they really have transformed their underage.

Probably following Mickey's blue print, get to a championship final, be well bet, get relegated (who cares about the leagues anyhow) and if things go to plan they may well win the Oliver Plunkett this year, if not they can just dump them blueprints in the trash and start over.

the only chance they have of seeing Oliver Plunkett is seeing it in the stands on Co Final day when its being presented
to one of the big clubs.

I'd say there's a fair bet that they'll battle relegation in the Championship just as they did in the league, and as starting over, unless there's an overall with the underage set up and the people in charge step away, they'll continue to go backwards.

2018 Minor Champs (amalgamated)
2019 beaten finalists
2021 Minor Champs
2022 beaten finalists
Maybe that's backwards in your eyes, other clubs would be proud. Just an FYI neither killygarry school nor Crubany has a football pitch. You'd want vet those pub conversations
