Great to see club football back once more. Attached are my predictions for this weeks games.

Division 1
Ramor v Laragh - Ramor too strong for Laragh - Ramor by 7
Lacken v Crosserlough - Crosserlough by 5
Kingscourt v Cootehill - Kingcourt should win this easily if Cootehills form from last year is anything to go by - Kingscourt by 9
Ballinagh v Killinkere - Ballinagh by 4
Gowna v Cavan Gaels - Tricky tie ill go for a draw.
Castlerahan v Ballyhaise - Castlerahan by 5

Division 2
Belturbet v Mullahoran - Mullahoran too strong here - Mullahoran by 4
Lavey v Denn - Draw
Bailieborough v Butlersbridge - Bridge by 3
Arva v Drumlane - Drumlane by 3. Hard to believe both sides are junior this year.
Knockbride v Shercock - Knockbride by 7.
Cuchullains v Ballymachugh - Cucus by 9
Cornafean v Drumgoon - Cornafean by 3.

Division 3
Templeport v Mountnugent - Tport be on a high after last year - Tport by 8
Killdallon v Maghera - Killdallon should be too strong here - Would be great to see some improvement from Maghera this year considering their underage efforts - Killdallon by 15
Killashandra v Corlough - Kshandra should be too strong but good to see Corlough back again - Kshandra by 12.
Swanlinbar v Shannon Gaels - Swad had a poor year last year and have lost their all of their Corlough contingent I presume - Shannon Gaels should be too strong. Shannon Gaels by 17
Redhills v Kill - Redhills by 3 - Both sides will be hoping for better years this year.
Drung v Munterconnacht - Drung by 4 had a great year last year.
Drumalee v Killygarry - Drumalee by 15. But hard to judge how good Killygarys second string is.

Any reports on the opening rounds of the league, was the standard good or poor? Kilinkere gave Ballinagh some hammering. Castlerahan back to winning ways. Gowna continue their good form. Didn't hear much from the other divisions. Good to see the league back up and running for club players.

Ramor gave Laragh a thumping. Good early season form from them, I think they'll retain their championship title this summer and hopefully go well in Ulster.

Couldn't do much worse than last year in Ulster…. A bad reflection on them when they have no player on quite an ordinary County team….!!

Is losing to the best club in Ireland really such a horrible result in your opinion?

Have you ever anything good to say?

Word is there were 6 Ramor lads asked in and only Liam Brady could commit.

I actually thought for a while Ramor were well in that game, despite the final scoreline. After half time, they got to within a point and then a series of very handy frees for Kilcoo saw them stretch the lead again, then they pulled away with Ramor chasing the game, before they gave up. Hard to compare the 2 teams. Kilcoo are in it every year after usually walking through Down (though not always), so know how to time their run. Ramor were in tough battles, including a final replay. They likely enjoyed that win, a lot, too much even. Something we see in Ulster is the teams who get out of their county regularly are the ones who challenge as they gain experience in it. Even Tyrone teams (where we see a different team win yearly) struggle in Ulster. Anyway, it can't just be that (even allowing for Kilcoo being a very very good club team). We have an absolutely brutal record in this competition. Teams need to prepare for it when they go out and represent the county.

Disappointing more Ramor lads aren't in, it's a big commitment though. I note Kilcoo are missing some big players off the Down team too, and Down got relegated. Happened to Derry too when Slaughtneil were going well. The club championships definitely have an impact on the Leagues.

Some eye catching results from the weekend, a surprising win for killinkere over Ballinagh, are Ballinagh missing a few? Big win for the cucus in division 2, ballymachugh only managed 1-1 for the entire game. Decent looking win for castlerahan, surely the team to beat in the intermediate

Surely they will give club footballers the weekend off to go to Croke Park. Anyone hear anything?

Some time on Sunday I think. No reason to lose a full weekend when there's plenty of time around the final. I'm sure they'll work games around it.

Looks like a full round of games on Friday and Sunday, to allow time for people to go to see the final in Croke Park on Saturday.

I would say most teams would prefer to play on Friday evening for obvious reasons
