a massive loss to who/what?

It's sad to see a proud and prestigious west cavan team fold, a huge loss to the community and the people it served.

Sad indeed. Shannon Gaels and Templeport seem to suffer badly from Emigration also. Longer drive to Dublin probably a factor there I suppose, and maybe is just too long for some to do week in week out.

Corlough still have an active twitter page. Maybe they still hold out hope of getting their players to transfer back in a few years if they can get a couple of underage teams through. Like Maghera are doing. An easier task in Maghera though.

That's very true, the other West Cavan teams are getting decimated from emigration. Maybe it's time for a few teams in the area to amalgamate. Be an exciting prospect.

shannon gaels and templeport are among the favorites to win the junior championship, templeport won it a few years ago...hardly suffering too badly

Templeport's Junior Championship win was a collosal effort given they're geographal location and the lack of employment in the area. Surely you have to acknowledge that.

Too many clubs as it is in West cavan. About time they started to amalgamate. Its a model which has been successfully implemented across the majority of successful counties. What will happen to Corlough's state of the art facilities?

Let's not get carried away here boys you'd swear West Cavan was a third World country the way you's are going on here.

Whereas some of what your saying is true the likes of Swanlinbar and Corlough id imagine are struggling badly for numbers but the likes of Templeport and Kildallon are relatively well populated areas and have the potential to do better at senior level, especially given the success Templeport have at underage without amalgamation.

Would clubs like Arvagh, Cornafean or Gowna have much bigger populations?

I don't think your getting the point Hatchet man. This area is sparsely populated, little employment, most lads are 100 plus miles away. I'm feeling some anti West Cavan bias here. Maybe I'm wrong.

Heard some rumours today about certain clubs having positive tests. Won't bother naming them in case they are false.

Does anyone know the procedure for a team who had a player training that gets a positive test?

Does that team forfeit the upcoming games until all have self isolated for 2 weeks or what is the Couty Board's POA for that potential eventually?

I've heard the same . I fear the worst and hope for the best . I think lads are itching to get going.

What's people's views on dressing rooms staying closed ? I understand it's spread easier indoors , however it's a bit ridiculous that you can hang out of each other for 60 minutes but can't get changed beside them for 5 minutes . Strange old year.

I hope we get a championship anyway , and I think the shortened year will really see lads up for it .

Should Championship matches be taken out og Kingspan Breffni no atmosphere with less than 120 spectators present?

If that is the Max number then I would think there is not much point in playing them in Breffni. Might as well make some use out of the club grounds which worked well 2 years ago.

Where are you getting that 120 number from? I'm not saying its wrong but it seems strange that there is one.

There will be some serious internal rows if clubs are forced to decide who their most valued 60 supporters are. Heads will surely roll at a few record attendance AGM's next year if that is the case.

There is no set number but its limited to 200 people so when you start to count Management, players, subs, selectors, match officials etc you will find your number of spectators.

Like of Breffni should be approved for whoever turns up as there is loads of room everyone.

until you get 12000 at a senior championship semi final by people mad to see gaa. that'd be some queue at 2 meters apart. They'd have to start letting them in hours before kick off if they are disinfecting the turnstiles after every person goes through..
